Dr. Peter Stevan Uzelac, MD

He lashed out at me and became verbally abusive and cruel. He literally flipped into a monster! I was late to the appointment. I couldn't help it. I didn't do it intentionally. I was staying over 2 hrs away and the traffic was horrible. Maybe that is why he lashed out at me. I don't know but it was incredibly inappropriate to talk to a patient in that way. All I did was ask a couple of questions about hormones fsh and lh and the fires in the area. After I asked these questions during my exam he told me to get dressed and he would come back in the room to discuss more. He came back with a nurse and then proceeded to tell me that I am "not on the team" and I "lack trust" and "need to get it together." He also insinuated I had a psychiatric problem solely because I have anxiety about taking a bunch of hormones. At this point, I felt very uncomfortable because I didn't do anything wrong. I believe he interpreted my questions as attacks on his expertise and then proceeded to… verbally attack and insult me in retaliation. I couldn't go further with the appointment and started to cry. I asked if I could finish this cycle with Dr. Agard and he said "No." So I told him I did not want to continue, did not want him near me for any kind of exam and wanted a refund for my last cycle. I was very upset at this point and he left the room and the nurse and front desk lady came in to try to calm me down. I told them I wanted my eggs out of there, I was going to post a public review and wanted a refund for my last cycle. I had to pay hundreds of dollars to get my eggs transferred to a storage facility and I could not get my refund unless I signed a "refund agreement." Basically I had to agree not to post anything publicly about the incident in order to get my refund. I do not know how legal this type of agreement would be and I never signed it. I will be forwarding it to the California Medical Board. I lost thousand of dollars in order to post here. That is how important it was to me to post this review. To close, if anyone needs "therapy" it is Dr. Uzelac. Patients are going to ask all kinds of questions especially if they will shooting up themselves with massive doses of hormones. I think he has ego issues and sees judgement and insult when there is none. He went to a caribbean medical school so maybe he is self conscious about that. I was not late on purpose and I think my questions were reasonable. How can a patient have "trust" if they can't feel comfortable asking a question.

Dr. Uzelac and his staff are very sensitive and attentive. I believe he is an honest man who is very passionate about his profession and wants the best for his patients. I felt like I could really trust his judgement during an emotional time.
