I’m 3 weeks post op open heart surgery for mitral valve repair by Dr. Walinsky at Memorial Central. The Colorado Springs community is so lucky that Dr. Walinsky and his cardiac team relocated here to UCHealth and Memorial Central. My experience from the beginning was exceptional. Dr. Walinsky is kind, caring and and an excellent cardiac surgeon.

Extremely pleased and grateful to Dr. Walinsky and the entire staff at UC Memorial regarding my surgical aortic valve replacement. All aspects of the surgery were handled flawlessly as I was very impressed with his awesome skill and wonderful bedside manner. My pain was virtually nil afterwards.

Dr Walinsky is careful, meticulous, caring, and the most talented surgeon I have ever met - and I’ve had a lot of surgery. His crew at Memorial has their own standard of care - a level above hospital standard - that they implement and require for all their patients. He and his team worked not only with my valve and a fib problems but with my paralyzing and hysterical fear of the surgery. He was the only doctor I saw who didn’t just push that aside. I am alive and sane today because of the Big W.

2.5 years ago I was extremely fortunate that Dr. Walinsky was assigned to perform my surgery in Albuquerque. What I liked about Dr. Walinsky is that he is extremely competent and confident. He was highly regarded as the best heart surgeon in NM. When nurses found out who my surgeon was, I felt like I received the VIP treatment as their common response was that I had the best surgeon in the Southwest.

Six year anniversary of quadruple by-pass surgery in Albuquerque, N.M. Flown in by Flight for life for emergency surgery, from Durango. Living in small town of Cortez at the time. I am eternally thankful for 100 percent successful procedure from caring . gifted surgeon, Dr. Walinsky. I had the heart attack two weeks after my husband was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Dr. Walinsky and staff supported me through surgery and recovery making it possible for me to care for my husband for eighteen months afterwards, until his death Dec. 31, 2013. He was able to be at home with Hospice support as per his wish. Colorado is very fortunate to have Dr. Walinsky living and working here. I am now living in Grand Junction , just celebrated my 79th birthday , am healthy, no heart problems.... hope Colorado Springs appreciates Dr. Walinsky. Shelley Schmitz
