Critical care specialists are typically found in a hospital's intensive care unit where they monitor patients with life-threatening conditions and make determinations as to the best course of treatment.

Compassionate and knowledgeable

I met Dr. Lao (as people call him) when my dad was in the ICU at RVMC. He was very attentive to my dad's needs. He was always caring and compassionate, even when he had to share some bad news with us. My dad did not survive but he received great care from the ICU team and from Dr. Lao.
