Dr. Philip Andrew Goldberg, MD

This doctor has little regard for the ethics that usually guide doctors.

I'm a T2 diabetic and have treated with Dr. Goldberg for approx. last 8-10 years. One of the supplements to my insulin is Victoza, which the VA did not have on their formulary list and would not make an exception and I couldn't afford the $400 to 500 a mo. cost. Tried the VA medication and my numbers and weight sky rocked. Dr Goldberg took me off the VA meds and provided me with the Victoza and my numbers and weight returned to the previous levels and have since dropped even lower to what is now a safe and consistent level. Based on these results the VA made the exception. Not sure how many other physicians would have gone to the considerable trouble of taking on the VA but he did.

The doctor is quite competent; however, the practice is a greedy one and takes on and has, too many patients. They are adding 5-6 new patients a day, and are missing one doctor. Those patients who are non-emergent and have to reschedule and appointment, will wait 5 or more months. They reserve no time during the daily schedule to accommodate those patients who schedule changes day to day, and who have to cancel and reschedule.

Definitely agree with other opinion about not challenging him. When I wouldn't do what he wanted, seemed like he was mad and held a grudge and then he became unapproachable. If you have no problems, he may be ok because his personality is generally ok...just don't challenge him.

Dr just refers to the blood tests, says all is fine. Never touches my feet or thyroid! This after several visits.Changed to new Dr.

Dr. Goldberg is the best!! After a great bedside manner during a thyroid biopsy. He explained a very complicated thyroid condition to a 21 year old and her parents in a manner that they would understand. Good news, potentially bad news....everything! He is a patient advocate, getting the best surgery care in an extremely timely fashion. Calls personally, not from staff.

Couldn't disagree more with the other comments - no idea how patients could think this. Dr. Goldberg was very knowledgeable and thorough, and his bedside manner was outstanding. His staff was very helpful and courteous. I highly recommend Dr. Goldberg, without reservation.

Awful bedside manner, condescending and curt if you challenge him or ask for tests. Thyroid issues seems knowledgeable, but I wouldn't trust him with anything else.
