Dr. Phillip Ward Ballard, MD

I'd give him a double zero if I could. No bedside manner, rude, no empathy.

been with Ballard for >23 years,. he has been thoughtful informed and kept me on track for wellness. Never a down day /night has visited me in hospital . I can not say enough great things for/nad about his practice of medicine.

Dr. Ballard is awesome. At first I didn't feel comfortable with him, but now that he has been my doc for 15t years we can joke back and forth. He answers all my questions and he takes good care of me and my family. No one can replace him and I dread the day he retires!

Dr. Ballard is a wonderful doctor. He answers all your questions and he takes his time with you. He is always right on time for your appointment.

I am still (unfortunately) a current patient as my Insurance is very restrictive and Psychiatrists are hard to get appointments with. Dr. Ballard does not listen to a word you say, after all HE is the doctor and we are clearly all sub-human morons. I have never met someone with such a terrible bedside manor (considering his field it leave so much to be desired). I literally have anxiety attacks when I have to go in for follow up as I know I am going to be chopped down and treated like a child each time. I have seen other Psychiatrists in the past, and although none were perfect, they were superstars in contrast to Dr. Ballard. Good luck to all in his clutches.

And continue to feel comfortable around him and feel free to ask any questions I have. He has given me his attention and listened to my issues. He understands what I am saying and gives honest advice and a plan to control my symptoms. He's a straight forward doctor and some people may dislike his manorisms but not every doctor matches well with every patient. For me he was exactly what I needed in a doctor and I would recommend him to anyone.

Phillip does not listen to his patients. He is one of the types of Psychiatrists that does what he wants. He does not take into consideration the reason for the visit, or what the patient has to say. He in fact laughed at me when I was expressing my concerns about my situation, and the needs of my current condition. He does not listen to the needs of his patients, instead as previously stated, he makes decisions based solely what HE wants, not what the patient needs. I will NEVER recommend anyone to this person. Be a little more compassionate Dr Ballard, and actually listen and understand what your patient needs!!

I am not going to tell my story other than to say that I also have been seen by this Dr. and everything that other commentators are saying is true. He is rude and short. Thank goodness I only saw him twice. He gave me meds that I never took because from the very beginning I did not trust him. It's been about 5 years ago, but I do remember the front office staff. I don't recall what the issue was, but the lady that helped me sort it out went above and beyond. I am sorry that I never gave her the proper Kudos.

i am truly sorry for any bad exp you had with him. He is saving me from being in the hospital, he takes care of my meds, and he listens. He also knows when I am lying. As a psychiatrist, you couldnt ask for more. For medical problems see an Internal doc. Family docs for your kids. jus saying
