Dr Phyllis Witzel Speiser

I went to see Dr. Speiser for my son's short stature. Needless to say, no parent wants to go this route but Dr. Speiser was totally against growth hormones. All i was looking for was a doctor to reassure me my son did not need and an objective opinion. Instead I received a lecture on why she is against it. Not a good experience. Walked away more confused and conflicted.

void at all costs! She is the most rude and unprofessional doctor who talks down to clients in a condescending and demeaning tone. I was referred to her by my pediatrician for my daughters growth. She refused to even take my child’s blood work, saying “short stature is not a disease” which I did not imply at all. She continued to say that you don’t seem to be happy that you have a healthy child. I told her I’m happy about my child just not her tone. I had to wait months for this appointment and had to have my pediatrician fax her growth charts to the office numerous times because they “got lost”. She barely even examined my daughter and told me she’s just going to be short. I asked for bloodwork to be done to be safe since I came all this way, she continued to tell that “that’s not the way I operate with clients telling me what should be done”. Worst experience ever, I left out of there in tears just because oh her tone and how she belittles everyone she speaks to including staff.… Talkings to me as if I’m incapable of understanding her, very snobby, rude and disrespectful.

My child was diagnosis and was told I needed to wait 6 months for the 1st appt. Then when we request a refill as a 1st time patient, we received the same response. The request was put in waiting on the doctor to sign off. Only took 3 days and having our pediatrician call to get it done.
