Dr. Poonam Khadka, MD

I am 67 years old and have never dropped a doctor before and have never filled out a negative review. I saw Dr Khadka for over a year beginning 4 - 5 years ago for osteoporosis. She told me what my drug options were but could not answer my questions about them. In the end I looked it up at home and made a choice but doubted the purpose of this high paid endocrinologist. She criticized me for not having taken medication sooner, for not taking calcium and D, for insufficient exercise and for my diet. I explained my very healthy diet, my rigorous weight bearing exercise regime and that I had taken calcium and D for a few years. Then she turned it around and said the only thing that mattered was the medication. I truly am a polite and health oriented individual and have never experienced this before. It was very disempowering and after three or four visits I switched to another endocrinologist who was excellent. My T score improved significantly, but unfortunately she recently moved. The… doctor who is available soonest is Dr Khadka but I will not return to her.

Terrific physician. Thorough, personable, attentive clinician. Takes the time to address patient concerns and discusses treatment options before determining the best regimen. Happy to have her on my treatment team.

She is awesome, she listens to me, and any issues that I am having and adjust what may need adjusting, or try something new till things are working correctly for my needs. St. Joe's is so lucky to have a Dr. like her. Her joyful attitude is something to be admired.

SHe states the opposite of my EMPIRIC experience of living without a thryoid gland since 1982. Tired; sleep 11 hours a day? too much meds???????????> Try NOT ENOUGH!!!!!

I was sent to see Dr Khadka by the VA. As an RN of almost four decades I am acutely aware of what a new patient visit, diagnosis, and care plan should consist of. To say I was impressed with the care and compassion shown to me by Dr Khadka, as well as her staff, would be an understatement.
