Prasad Kannaeganti was born in India. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, AP, India.Â Dr. Kannaeganti completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College (Metropolitan) Program in New York. Prior to completing his nephrology fellowship at the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque, Dr. Kannaeganti worked in internal medicine for five years in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He joined North Texas Kidney Disease Associates in 2011.

Dr. Kannaeganti is married with one child and in his free time he enjoys hiking.

Dr. Kannaeganti is an amazing & dedicated doctor who offers the very highest quality of kidney care. He is committed to the best treatment possible. He is easy to understand & very thorough sharing his knowledge & it is clear he enjoys the work he does & helping his patients live our best life possible after diagnosis & during treatment. Dr. Prasad V Kannaeganti, is excellent taking care to check and explain about both my parents medical conditions and helps them understand what need to be done to maintain a good health. He listen to patients and their family member, always friendly, smiling and helpful.. and put patients at ease. Highly recommend Dr. Prasad V Kannaeganti. Thank you Doctor.

Dr. Kannaeganti has been my mothers Nephrologist for several years and is the best. He once again has proven how thorough and knowledgeable he is with her latest medical issue. He makes sure he looks at all the possible issues and addresses them before making a decision. He also takes the time to explain his decisions and makes his patients informed on procedures. He has saved my mother’s life in my opinion. Thanks Dr. K!

Having been diagnosed with stage 4 chronic kidney disease in my one remaining kidney, it was very important to me to be referred to the best nephrologist. With Dr. Kannaeganti, I couldn't ask for more. He is extremely thorough, and explains complex medical conditions in an easily understood, concise way. He doesn't beat around the bush and gets straight to the point, which is a trait I value. His bedside manner is superb with just the right amount of compassion and a great sense of humor. Dr K has done a fabulous job in adjusting me medications so that my BP readings have greatly improved over the last five months. He takes a generous amount of tome explaining what he is doing with med changes and what his long range plan is to help with your kidney disease.
