Dr. Pravin Varadaraj Sharma, MD

Dr. Sharma saved my life (literally). I was heading for a likely fatal health event that he caught early and treated with love and compassion. I am bothered by other reviewers who seemed to blithely give a single star rating without any explanation. This is not only suspicious, it is completely uncharacteristic of the type of care and compassion I have been given by this wonderful doctor. He is a true gem!

Dr. Sharma has been my primary physician for at least 25 years. He is both knowledgeable and friendly and always takes time to see how I'm doing both medically and personally. I would rate him 5 stars.

Dr. Sharma is very thorough and caring. He takes time with me and doesn't rush off to see his next appointment. Sometimes there is a little bit of a wait but that's because he takes time with each and everyone of his patients. And hey your going to an Internest, you have to expect him to go above what a General Dr. will do. He found my heart murrmur on my first visit. I couldn't imaging going any where else.

I write this as a caretaker, not the patient. The patient's son is very taken with Sharma, and from what I have hear from the son, his treatment from the doctor is far from how the patient is treated by the Sharma. I'll start with the wait, the patient was the first appointment of the day for her annual Physical. That bit of information is needed to understand my initial disappointment and what set the mood for the rest of the visit. We arrived on time, slightly before the appointment time. We waited twenty minutes pass the appointment time to be seen into the examine room. The nurse took her vitals and told us to wait the doctor would be with us shortly. It took Sharma FORTY more minutes to come into the exam room! I wasn't sitting silently during that time. I also understand doctors having emergencies that need to be attended too. So after checking with the office staff twice, I went to check where the doctor was, (no one stopped me from walking down the hall.) The doctor… was in a exam room where a cardio tech was doing a stress test, or had done. By the time I heard Sharma in that room loudly laughing and telling jokes with the two men in the room. I was livid at this point and just wanted to get the appointment over. The patiend was been seen by this doctor for years. Apparently he doesn't take the time to get to know his patients. The primary purpose of this appointment was to make out a physical form for her residence. He was writing out the form verbatm from the patient, and would not let me give him the correct information. Okay, HIPPA and all that. He had the chart in front of him and one of the details was a surgery within the last years being left out. Geez. The topper was we had been left sit for so long she could not get a TB test then because the person who did them had left for lunch.I have never seen a doctor treat a women (elderly or otherwise) as badly as he had. OH, and yes I did give him a piece of my mind.

I felt that Dr. Sharma was very thorough in his evaluation of my health condition. However, he overbilled me. I went there as a new patient. He divided his evaluation into two parts and billed my insurance for 2 visits...I was only there once that day. My insurance denied the claim saying that he is only allowed to bill me for one visit (I only payed my co-pay once) unless I left the office and came back later in the day (which I didn't) Dr. Sharma's nurse reminded me that I signed the agreement to pay for anything that my insurance does not cover. Well...they obviously don't pay for 2 visits when i was only seen once. Dr. Sharma would not write it off...I still owe him and the office threatened to send this to collections. I will not return to this office.

Dr. Sharma serves as our family physician, including our older parents. He is thorough, compassionate, patient and very professional. He immediately diagnosed a debilitating disease my father-in-law had after several other doctor's were stumped. I can't imagine ever going to another doctor. He's the finest.

If you have pretty good insurance, He will give you every test he can think of if you need it or not, And he doesn't care what you may have to pay as a co payas long as he is filling his bank account
