Dr. Prema Kothandaraman, MD

my first visit here at the Glendale location, front desk girl was very rude and not even making eye contact talking to me, we also made an appt to see the dr i was told i was going to see the dr and saw a nurse practitioner, and when i asked the front desk about a question a prescrition was given she rolled her eyes had us sitting for 15 min and she left the front desk without saying anything let me wait for a question. i will not return again. i was told the office staff was very rude but the dr was great so i decided to go, and it was true, she was rude and we didn't even see the dr.

Having Dr. Prema as a doctor was a great decision and she made the very stressful process less daunting. She was always able to communicate with me throughout the whole process. Very lovely and kind Lady, definitely would recommend.

My OB, Prema Kothandaraman, got my due date two weeks wrong. A week after she told me, i went into labor. This made my daughter 2wks early. But when i got to the hospital it turned out my OB was at a family function. She told the nurses my daughter would be a month premature and to give me a shot to stop my labor. Said if i was still in labor in 6hrs she would come in. This went on for the next 24HRS. In 6hr increments. 2 shots and 2 pills later she was still no where to be found and ordered an ultrasound. The ultrasound tech said my daughter was ready to come out and he didnt know what the doctor was waiting for. My c section was ordered and a completely different doctor delivered my baby. She was immediately taken away and they said she was having issues breathing. It was 5:30pm and i was told to start pumping to get my milk ready and she would be back with me shortly. At 3am i called a nurse in to ask where my baby was. She told me that the medication the doctor had them give me to… stop my labor had given my daughter a respiratory issue and they would need to keep her longer to clear the amniotic fluid from her lungs!! The doctor that came in the next morning LIED and said it was a common thing to happen to c sectioned babies because the birth canal didnt squeeze her to push out the amniotic fluid. My daughter was in the nicu for the first week of her life because of Prema Kothandaraman. P.S. was extremely anemic during my pregnancy and would come in explaining the dizzy spells and being bed ridden. This OB continued to tell me to increase my sugar intake.

She lies and 1 of her staff us rude she didn't fix my problem she made it worse.dont go to her

She had me pay up front in full for my visit, then sent me a bill later that showed she had also billed my insurance and asking me for more money. She also refused to give me the results of my lab test over the phone saying I had to come in, but when I accused her of doing this just to try and bill me for another office visit, she admitted that I didn't really need to come in. I am getting the results directly from the lab.

I am surprised at the few negative reviews posted. I want to write to empower other women and let them know, they should be fearless in Dr. Prema's hands. After suffering from two miscarriages Dr. Prema had made my third pregnancy stress free. She was very considerate and compassionate knowing the fear of loosing another pregnancy. Dr. Prema gave me strength and hope to put me at ease. The nurses and staff were also understanding and caring. Dr. Prema answered all of my concerns and was quick and efficient with my prenatal care. She put my worries to rest, and was on top of things and incredibly thorough with all the test, etc. The delivery itself was amazing, she stayed in the hospital as my labor progressed for many hours not leaving and attending her office like some physicians would. Dr. Prema delivered my beautiful daughter. My postnatal care was also great. Dr. Prema stills continues with my annual exams and notifies me when it's time for the next exam. If your looking for a… professional, caring, and want all of yours concerns addressed, she is the one. All I can say, "trust your body with her".

I feel blessed to have Dr. Prema as my physician. She performed a surgery for me a few weeks ago at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. Dr. Prema's loving, warm, and reassuring presence calmed me and made me feel comfortable. The surgery went extremely well due to Dr. Prema's excellent surgical skills. (She is Yale trained.) I work in the health care industry and call on OBGYN's all across the Los Angeles area, and Dr. Prema is the doctor I picked for myself because she is the best there is. She embodies the love, the care, and the intelligence you would want from your health care provider.

We have been there few times during pregnancy. The doctor and staff are very friendly. I will defenitely recomment this doctor.

I wish I had done this surgery 10 years ago. Prema diagnosed the problem, gave me the options and decided to do the sling procedure. I got my freedom back ;-). Highly recommended!

Amazed by all of the negative comments, but please don't judge her by them. Dr. Prema and her staff are amazing! Dr. Prema is an outstanding doctor who genuinely cares for her patients. She always gives you her undivided attention and makes you feel at ease. Dr. Prema transmits a sense of serenity and peace that is exactly what one needs during a doctors visit.
