Dr. Smith is an orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in arthroscopy and sports medicine. He finished his B.S. at Brigham Young University, graduating summa cum laude, the highest level of distinction achievable. For medical school, he attended The Ohio State University, where he also completed an accelerated year of graduate coursework in the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program.

He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the prestigious Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, followed by a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at New Mexico Orthopaedics, the premier private orthopedic group of New Mexico. He has interest in arthroscopy and sports medicine, as well as knee, hip, and shoulder replacement, including partial knee replacement. He also enjoys general orthopedic trauma and fracture care for patients of all ages.

Dr. Smith believes in treating every patient like a family member, and patients appreciate his personable and compassionate approach to medicine while offering the latest surgical and non-surgical treatment options. As multigenerational Arizona natives, Dr. Smith and his wife are excited to be back home to raise their children close to grandparents and cousins.
