Dr. Padmarekha Rao, MD

Our first visit to Dr. Rao included nearly two hours of waiting (in the waiting room and examining room) a sloppily administered mental status exam by someone who did not even introduce themselves and a 5-10 minute interview by the doctor who requested MRI and a couple of other tests before she could begin treating my mother. Whatever happened to actually taking a history, sitting down with a patient and asking them about the history and development of their symptoms? (She never even sat down and my overall impression of her was that she was in a hurry to catch a train.) A few months later, my mom found herself in the hospital and Dr. Rao was the neurologist assigned to her case. I observed the same hurried behavior every day she came to see my mother, whom she barely knew and barely looked at. If she spent 3 minutes with us I get the feeling it was too much from her. If you want a doctor with good bedside manner who really cares and takes her time getting to know you as a human… being before treating you, then Dr. Rao is not the doctor for you. If on the other hand, you enjoy a doctor who just gets down to treatment before needing to know anything about you and if you are willing to wait at least an hour or longer at every appoinment, then maybe she could work for you..+

Dr Rao is best thing happened to me. I had bad experience from other doctors before I saw her and that made me self medicate with imported Indian medicines which made my Alzheimer worse. Dr Rao',s staff helped in accurate pre-certification of insurance payments that kept my anxiety at a manageable level. Dr Rao is very professional and God bless her for her expertise

Haven't seen the doctor yet I'm sitting the receptionist area. You have to speak thru a small crack in their window that's about an inch and a half open. Absolutely so un professional and unpersonal. They literally squeezed the clipboard thru barely. Not pressed at all so far. We're not in a prison were in a doctors office.

I normally don't take the time to write any reviews because I believe patients should find out about physicians by an examination. Not every patient / physician relationship will be successful so if you're on here to find out whether you should see this doctor or not, always decide for yourself. With that said, my overall experience with Dr. Rao has been promising. As I suffer from migraine headaches, I feel her treatment plan has been providing relief of my symptoms. Her office staff is pleasant, but I think there's room for improvement. They truly are nice people but unfortunately it seems their hands are tied when it comes to office policies. Disorganization is something that can be rectified, though. The wait time is long, you won't get out of there within an hour. But hey, what's more important, your wait time, or a great physician? My main complaint about Dr. Rao's office is her lack of office hours. She doesn't see patients on weekends and doesn't have any night hours. That… really doesn't accomodate the working person and I really can't always be taking off of work to come see her. Dr. Rao, I really like you but you need to accomodate people better. We can't get in to see you!

Dr Rao is a great Dr but her staff is horrible. One of them even talks badly about patients right in front of other patients. She reeks of cigarettes too, very unprofessional for a doctor's office. Horrible to listen to and smell while waiting an hour to see the doctor.

Not only has Dr. Rao given me the best treatment and helped me with all of my issues, I have to comment on her wonderful office staff. A friendly and helpful staff is a direct reflection of the physician you are seeing. Dr. Rao's girls are very accommodating, they go out of their way to help you, and lemme tell ya, they put up with a lot of malarkey! I give them so much credit. Their job is no easy task! Dr. Rao and staff, thank you for the welcoming treatment and support!

Mis-daignosis my elderely mom for years, and did not know until we saw another neurolgist who conducted studies and corrected the problem. the staff is the worst you could find. Find another doctor.

I have never had such a friendly doctor in my life, she was so nice! The service was great and the office is beautiful. She was so patient and treated all of my illnesses. Highly recomended
