I brought my daughter into Nemours Urgent Care for flu like symptoms. After waiting an hour (no big deal) and paying my copay, the “doctor” comes in, asks a bunch of questions, barely listens to my answers, especially when I tell her that 3 of the 4 family members have already tested positive for the flu and have been started on Tamiflu. Before she even examines my daughter, she is already telling me she will not treat her with tamiflu or any other medication. She gives her a 45 second exam and listens to her heart and tries to send us out the door with paperwork, and advice to give Motrin and honey for her cough. I asked her if she was going to swab her and do a flu test, she said no because she wasn’t “high risk”. I’m sorry, kids that are my daughters age are dying from this flu, and like I said, 3 out of our 4 family members indeed have the flu. She basically refused to treat my child. She couldn’t even take 5 minutes to confirm that she has the flu. Basically a waste of time and… money. I was already giving Motrin and honey at home. She couldn’t wait to get out of the exam room. Very unprofessional.
