Dr. Rachel Bernstein, MD

This is hands down the best experience you will get from a doctor. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the doctor is extremely knowledgeable and always straight to the point, and they go out of their way to ensure you get the treatment you need.

Dr B is an amazing clinician. She treats conservatively with the most current tools (ultrasound, pathology and genetic labs) and is passionate about caring for her patients. Her office is run efficiently, honestly and professionally. I highly recommend this practice

Dr. Bernstein is extremely condescending and does not listen to patients' values or wishes. I had to tell her and her staff on at least two occasions that I did not want any of the genetic screening tests performed via blood draw. I explained that the results would only cause me anxiety due to the high error rate of these tests. But she argued that it was her standard of care and equated my refusal of the screening to refusing an IV or blood transfusion. She simply refused to listen to anything I had to say, which is not how a doctor-patient relationship is supposed to work. Also, I'm hypothyroid and have been taking medication for nearly a decade. I made an appointment with Dr. Bernstein as soon as I found out I was pregnant because I knew the importance of monitoring my condition during pregnancy. She didn't even attempt to help me and said I should instead see an endocrinologist. I trusted her (because I didn't know better) and tried to make an appointment, but the group she… recommended would not see me for at least 6 weeks because I was considered a "new" patient. So there I was, knowing that I needed my thyroid hormone levels monitored, but no doctor to do it. I called Dr. Bernstein's office and talked with the nurse (who was very nice) and explained the situation and she tried to get an appointment for me but still the practice refused to give me an earlier appointment. And still Dr. Bernstein wouldn't help me. The only way I was able to find an endocrinologist who would see me within a week was to drive 1.5 hours north of Fort Lauderdale. Needless to say, I'm finding a new doctor.

I waited hours for Dr Bernstein and she rushed me every single visit. Any time I had a problem she would say that’s not her area and send me to another specialist. Even a specialist at one point questioned why she didn’t handle it. Any problem I told her about she would question in an attacking tone of voice. She NEVER read my chart before coming in and then would ask me to remind her of “my case”. Also, anytime she sent me to a specialist my records were never sent to that office. I left her office crying on more than one occasion.

Be warned - they delete all the negative reviews so don't be fooled by the good ones. I chose this doctor because of the good reviews but was completely fooled. I strongly believe most of the reviews are fake and they have the negative ones deleted. (Note to staff - I will keep posting this review if it gets deleted) This doctor's office is all about appearance but patients don't matter to them. If you want a fancy office but an incompetent doctor and staff, then this is the right office for you. First off - The waiting times are ridiculous, I had to leave one time because they made me wait over 2 hours. Then they don't even know how to schedule appointments, I was told I don't have an appointment when I clearly had the appointment reminder card that they gave me. I went there for my pregnancy and lost my baby at 6 weeks. When I had my follow up US appointment, the sonographer was listening to music and when I asked "is there any growth since last week" he just said "no, doesn't look… like it" and went on to humming the song that was playing and saying "this song reminds me of vacation" I was completely dumbfounded. Even the nurse looked kind of shocked. I understand they're medical professionals and not psychologists but a little bit of compassion would have made this experience a little bit better. Or just keep your insensitive comments to yourself. After the US and after learning that I will probably miscarry the baby, I was told that Dr. Bernstein does not have time to discuss things with me today and that I will have to come back later or on another day. (This was the day when they told me I did not have an appointment even though I had the appointment reminder card to prove it. Again, incompetent to even schedule appointments) I understand OBGyn's have labor emergencies but she walked right passed me when I was at the check-out desk and didn't even seem to be in a hurry. This showed me I'm just a number to them, not a patient and that I don't matter. I have not even received a call about my blood test results or anything since then. So again, be warned. This office cares nothing about their patients. It's all about looks and appearance and making money. You as a patient don't matter to them.

Dr. Bernstein and her staff are truly wonderful. The level of care, attention and detail I receive each visit is incomparable in my experience. The staff is always so pleasant and knowledgeable that it makes me feel confident and well taken care of. Dr. Bernstein took one of the toughest moments of my life and made each visit a joyous experience. Her concern for my health and overall well being always took precedence and she really took the time to discuss her concerns with me. It is important as a patient to be fully informed regarding the latest medical advances that pertain to you. Dr. Bernstein is the only physician who advised and introduced me to testing that could possibly help me to avoid future health complications as well. Last but not least the office is beautiful and always spotless. Overall I can only say I am grateful to have her.

Dr. Bernstein has a beautiful, clean, state-of-the-art office, but it is NOT worth it. First, the office was completely inflexible with scheduling appointments. I tried to work with the office to minimize my time out of work so I could reserve as much time as possible with my newborn. But scheduling was a nightmare. I had to wait over an hour each visit. There were multiple days with Dr. Bernstein out of the office and they were unwilling to let me see other doctors in the practice. Despite not being able to have appointments with other doctors, you have zero visibility into which of multiple doctors would deliver your baby! Billing was a nightmare. Each visit cost me hundreds of dollars out of pocket because of improper billing by the office. I spent countless hours working with my insurance company to get this corrected, time that should have been spent enjoying my pregnancy and preparing for my bundle of joy. Worst of all Dr. Bernstein was curt and condescending during visits.… After a few visits, it was clear this treatment wasn’t reserved for patients. She treated her staff similarly. I witnessed her scolding them for minutiae. I would like to commend her nursing staff. Each nurse I dealt with was competent and kind. Quite frankly, they were the only redeeming quality to the horrible experience I had with this practice.

Dr. Rachel Bernstein has been my OBGYN for 7 years. She is amazing OBGYN and surgeon. She was very supportive and thoughtful during a difficult miscarriage. She was incredibly patient and through during my 3rd pregnancy and c-section. I wish she had been my doctor for my first 2 pregnancies. I highly recommend Dr. Bernstein.

My advise, find another Obgyn. Highly disorganized and spends no time with you.

My first time visit with Bernstein. Very rude, unprofessional, combative, and made me feel very uncomfortable. The staff was just as bad. No guidance with further testing to have done. Horrible experience. I will not go back to her. I suggest you find another Dr. Leaves me with low esteem, after that initial visit.
