Dr. Rachel Humphrey, MD

For a doctor with such apparent esteem, this doctor did not make me feel any better about managing the potential onset of pre-e for my second pregnancy. She ranted on and on about fish and exercise after going on a lengthy tangent telling me that the placenta is the reason for pre-e - not anything the mother does or does not do. A complete waste of time and I will never see hera gain nor will I recommend her.

My husband and I had gone to Winnie Palmer first and met with Dr. Dixon and his team whom approved our case, however, we wanted to be at the same hospital as my transplant team (advent). So I set up a consult with Dr. Humphrey. When she walked in she seemed rushed and not interested in my complicated case at all. I was under the impression she was a high risk maternal fetal medicine doctor because she wanted to help women with complicated cases, NOPE! She was cold, very rude, and of course with in minutes of meeting me turned my case down. She walked out and I thought “ok well that’s that.” Nope! She took the information I provided about Winnie Palmer and reached out to that doctor and told them they shouldn’t take my case. So when I went back to Winnie Palmer the team thoroughly went through my medical history, sent me in for more tests to make sure I didn’t really have Hypotension. Of course I didn’t, but Rachel didn’t even take the time to make sure. Let’s just say, Winnie Palmer… scored an amazing case. A double lung transplant patient with one kidney had a healthy baby boy full-term zero complications. She broke my spirit and I really hope she never does this to another woman that is vulnerable, just trying to make her life’s dream come true. She could have shown more compassion and take the time to get to know her potential patient. Instead she took the easy way out.

Today was my last of 3 appointments with High Risk Pregnancy Consultants. It would have been my first time seeing Dr. Humphrey had she not denied me care. I had an 8am appointment which is typically a 50 minute ride from my home. My husband and I both drove to this appointment as we both had to work after. We hit unusual traffic with 4 accidents along the way. We finally arrived to our appointment 7 minutes after the 15 minute grace period had ended. I even called the office as soon as they opened to let them know what was going on with traffic. Upon my arrival I was denied care by the doctor and her team. When we arrived, we were THE ONLY people in the office as i was the first appointment of the day. I then asked to speak with the doctor directly. She refused to speak with me. I then continued to wait and speak with staff about why I couldn't be seen when we were told that they schedule each appointment with a 45 minute block of time. If that is the case, than we still had 25 minutes… of our appointment time to see the doctor. Again, I asked for 5 of those minutes and was denied. Throughout the hour that my husband and I attempted to speak reason and logic to the staff they lied to us twice and changed their story as to why I couldn't be seen. This is a doctor who is supposed to care for women with high risk pregnancies. I am 7 months pregnant and have had a very difficult pregnancy. I can't seem to understand how this "Christian" practice could inflict such stress and trauma on a woman who was 7 minutes late for the first time ever when I all wanted was to be assured that my baby is ok. Instead, she called hospital security to have my husband and I removed from the office. This is the most outrageous turn of events and was completely preventable. Instead I am now dealing with a load of stress I did not need and have not been seen for what should have been my last appointment prior to having my baby. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor and practice that actually cares about ethical treatment of their patients.

I have been a patient of Dr. Humphrey since 2017. I had an unsuccessful high risk pregnancy in 2017 and despite all the emotional and physical pain I went through, Dr. Humphrey was always there giving me lots of support. She treated me not just as a patient but like a sister giving guidance and advice. I remember when I first made the discovery that my previous child had issue and I had to make a decision and terminate the pregnancy, she was really supportive and explained all the options and provided me with the tools that I needed to make an informed decision. Thanks to God, after 7months, I am pregnant again and now, I am delighted to see her again but just to make sure I keep on track and have a healthy baby. She is simply the best and I am glad I chose her this time also.

not all pregnancy end happy but Dr Humphrey was there when my son was born and she was so kind and explained everything very well and took the time to just listen in what i had to say and hopefully my next pregnancy will end happy and i can work with Dr.Humphrey again

She misdiagnosed my child and she stereotypes and is very prejudice

Upon my first visit early on in my pregnancy I was completely blown away. Dr Humphrey always made my husband and I feel like her number one priority. She has excellent bedside manner and took the time out to not only answer every one of our questions, but also provide recent statistics to back up what she was saying. This is my second pregnancy, and my second high risk doctor. My first doctor was horrendous. I wish we would've met Dr Humphrey a long time ago. In addition to Dr Humphrey being an exceptional doctor,, her office was always clean, we were always seen in a timely manner and the ultrasound staff was wonderful, taking their time during every exam. I would recommend Dr Humphrey to anyone needing a fetal specialist.

I was referred to Dr Humphrey early in my pregnancy. Dr Humphrey impressed me at first because she was so professional and well informed. I am a logical thinker and she referenced statistical data/study results when providing explanations to my many questions. In addition, she would ask appropriate questions which told me she wanted to be sure that she had the whole picture and took time to fully answer my questions as well as give further details as appropriate so that I too felt very informed. As my pregnancy progressed, I was in need of a procedure which required me to be admitted to the hospital. As expected, Dr Humphrey visited prior to the surgery. What I did not expect is that she stayed with me through the entire process including walking me down the hall, looking me in the eye, discussing all the following: concerns, questions, and just general conversation to keep me informed and also comfortable. I had this same procedure prior with my older son, and my doctor at that time… whisked into the room, spoke primarily to nursing staff, whisked back out and that was that. I didn't actually have a problem with this as that is what I expect of surgeons; however, this time with Dr Humphrey, I was not alone. I had the company of someone that I had grown to know and trust as my doctor and she made sure that I knew she was there for me. I don't care how many hospitals you've been in or how prepared you think you are, when you are on the gurney being rolled into surgery, nerves set in. I asked the nurses in recovery if she was always like that, and they confirmed that she treats everyone with equal respect... they too were obviously impressed. She sets a positive tone in her office as well, her nursing/admin staff obviously love their jobs and there is a courteous/personal focus on each patient. This level of patient care cannot be beat. She is a great doctor because she is a specialist that keeps up on the latest developments in her field, but she is the BEST doctor because she cares. I had my daughter at 37 weeks and I am sure that I would not have made it that far along if it weren't for Dr Humphrey. I am truly grateful to be her patient and highly recommend her.

The care was exceptional. Dr. Humphrey was very attentive and had great bedside manner. She takes the time to explain difficult situations in a way that you can understand. Her staff is awesome. This whole team is very caring and is absolutely one that I would recommend to everyone.

After a terrible experience with another local maternal and fetal specialist I was referred to Dr. Humphrey. What a difference! My pregnancy was in good hands. Dr. Humphrey has incredible bedside manner and went the extra mile for me in addition to her extensive knowledge. I trust her completely and while another specialist suggested I terminate my pregnancy Dr. Humphrey was in my corner and helped to alleviate any concerns I had. We now have a healthy baby boy and we will forever be thankful for Dr. Humphrey's care. I recommend her 110%.
