Dr. Rajalla Elika Prewitt, MD

I met Dr. Prewitt while I was attending a PHP after being impatient. This was at a time when my previous psychiatrist had to leave her practice. Dr. Prewitt has an excellent bedside manner, is soft spoken, and has helped get my prescriptions to just the right place. I would highly recommend Dr. Prewitt to any adult or adolescent looking for a psychiatrist.

I’ve been with Dr Prewitt since 2013/14. She’s assisted with my independence. I feel safe coming to her during rapid cycling and I adore how thoughtful she is as a psych. I’ve had suicide attempts since my time with her but the tolls my bipolar also takes on her proves to me that I’m never just a number or paycheck. She’s genuine, soft spoken and passionate about bettering her community. I wish the psychiatrists I saw before her attempted to understand me the way she has... the wait to see her isn’t ideal but she’s one of the best in the area.

I have been seeing Dr. Prewitt for almost 2 years. She remembers our conversation from the prior appointments which is incredible considering the number of patients she sees. She always spends time to ask what is going on in my life. Some people say she doesn’t have a great bedside manner, I believe that is because she is very direct and does not coddle you. If you want an honest Dr. Who tells you how it is without any fluff, this is the Dr. for you. She is really smart and knows her stuff.

I feel she is too willing to prescribe medication to children without really listening to the side effects they are experiencing and would not hear the concerns of the parents, even when the child's symptoms got worse instead of better.

I know Psychiatrists pretty much write only scripts nowadays. But on your first visit you would think one would spend a little more time talking to the patient, evaluate/test and make suggestions. Try this med.and see you in a month. Dr.Prewitt, I don't think even shook our hands, the visit felt a little rushed, out in 30 minutes on our first visit. While I know it is not social hour, but show a little warmth, especially to a young, new patient. Staff is pleasant, easy to get an appt. and good office location.

finding about Dr. Prewitt was that she is a excellent doctor in her field of specialty. Her father Dr. Steven Patel, M.D. is also a excellent psychiatry doctor. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs help in the way of psychiatrist healthcare.
