Dr Rajashri Iyengar, MD

Dr. Iyengar insisted on referring to test results that were obviously not mine, as I had not had allergy tests that year, and wouldn't believe me when I said that I had not been tested. She went on to describe her recommendations for treatment based on the test results, in spite of my repeated request to confirm that she was looking at the right patient's records. I finally pointed to the monitor and asked her to scroll up to the patient's name, and when she did she saw that it was not me. Rather than apologize she blamed the person who set up the room -- but that didn't explain why she wouldn't listen to me when I said that I the results couldn't possibly be mine.

Instead of trying to diagnose and determine the root causes of my child's food allergies, Dr. Iyengar suggested to put the child on two different types of antihistamines concurrently. She was unhelpful and refused to assist when asked whether we could challenge the child at her office with a food product that the child had shown a negative reaction to, saying "I only have nurses here to help if something goes wrong, go try this at home and if something goes wrong call 911." She lacks clinical knowledge and failed to test the child for certain food allergens despite the child showing classic hallmarks associated with those allergens. We thereafter saw another allergist who was very effective in determining what the child is allergic to and helped us with a diet to control the allergies and to gradually build resistance to alleviate the child's allergies. Our child suffered a lot when she was under Dr. Iyengar's treatment and took a lot of unnecessary medication prescribed by… Dr. Iyengar, and has improved significantly since she is being seen by the new allergist. She now eats better, and is thriving, and her allergies and the symptoms are now under control thanks to the new allergist.
