He is studying novel mechanisms that underlie the stability of beta-catenin in the Wnt signaling pathway, which is a pathway of interest in the treatment of bipolar disorder. He is also creating induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells using fibroblasts from patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, with the goal of investigating the disease biology in live neuronal cells with the patients' genetic makeup.
