When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, my first reaction was to have a mastectomy. Being an executive in a large firm with young children, I had no time for this and was focused on getting my treatments done quickly and definitively. Fortunately, I was found to be early stage and my breast surgeon suggested that I consider targeted therapy with Dr Patel. I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node procedure which showed stage 1 breast cancer. I came for consultation to Pleasanton with some reluctance given the distance but knew immediately that i had made the right decision. From the wonderful staff you meet immediately upon arrival to the cancer centerto the radiation staff, I felt i was being cared for. Within a few minutes of meeting Dr Patel, I realized why I had travelled two hours to get there. It was clear that he was an expert in the field with his knowledge base and credentials that i had researched online beforehand. However it was his personal touch, warmth and caring… nature that made me feel at ease. He explained my pathology report and my options with a drawing in a way that made me fully understand my situation. I went thru the 5 day brachytherapy treatment with SAVI and although I had some tiredness, overall it was a breeze with no pain or side effects. I stayed in a local hotel and the team at Valley Medical led by Dr Patel made my husband and I truly feel like family. I even had a graduation ceremony at the finish and felt some sadness about heading back home. I was back to work on Monday! My sincere gratitude to the entire team for their dedication, contagious and amazing spirit and mostly their expertise with this cutting-edge treatment for my breast cancer.

I am extremely impressed with Dr Patel and his staff. He kept me very informed on all procedures and was there for any questions at any time. Dr Patel takes personnel interest in his patients and it shows. I would recommend him to anyone needing radiation treatment.
