Dr. Rama Kurella Rao, MD

Worst doctor to go to. She made me feel bad about the way things are. Her communication skills are rude and not like a doctor. Absolutely horrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to anyone. From the moment the appointment started, I felt judged and dismissed. The doctor repeatedly asked inappropriate and personal questions about my sex life, not out of concern or professionalism, but in a tone that felt mocking and invasive. She laughed during the consultation, which was deeply insensitive and made me feel humiliated and ashamed. It honestly felt like she enjoyed making me uncomfortable. I’ve never encountered a medical professional with such a demeaning and dismissive approach. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity and compassion neither of which were present in this appointment. The only positive part of the visit was the assistant, who was respectful, caring, and professional completely unlike the doctor. This experience was not just bad it was traumatic. I… will never return, and I hope others think twice before booking an appointment here.

I had a deeply upsetting experience during my Pap smear appointment. Dr. Rama did not explain the procedure at all, and I was left confused, anxious, and unprepared. I felt completely dismissed and, to be honest, violated. Her lack of empathy and poor communication made an already sensitive situation much worse. With due respect, her attitude was cold and concerning. On the other hand, the rest of the staff was kind and supportive. I truly hope Dr. Rama reflects on how important compassion and clear communication are during such vulnerable moments for patients.

Dr. Rao is the absolute best!!!! Her entire staff is amazing, responsive, and helpful. Her P.A. is particularly exceptional. Dr. Rao was referred to me by one of my healthcare providers. I always say, "Good doctors know other good doctors." I'm writing this review particularly to encourage any woman who's facing apprehensions about the procedure. I've never had a surgery, stitches, broken bone, or even a sprang. So, I researched, checked, and double checked before committing to the surgery because I am extremely discerning about my health. If you choose Dr. Rao, you can look forward to being in the good hands of a knowledgeable professional. Dr. Rao, dispelled all areas of ambiguity. She provided very clear and concise instructions for pre and post operation. She even personally checked on me post-op. She glued be back together (literally) like a plastic surgeon, which was a welcomed bonus. Dr. Rao is very experienced at this procedure. Two (2) non-affiliate doctors raved about… her to me. So, join the rave. Don't hesitate. All things being equal, follow the instructions (pre & post op), and you'll be just fine. God bless your journey. Monisha

Due to her unprofessional staff, I never got a chance to see Dr. Rao. I was referred to this doctor by another doctor. My appointment was at 11:15 am on Tuesday and I was 10 mins away, I called to inform them I may be a couple of minutes late just to find out my appointment had been canceled and the doctor was in surgery all day. I booked my appointment a couple of weeks prior, and the women at the front desk were not apologetic nor empathic. They claimed to have called me to reschedule, however, I asked when did they call and what number did they call, and it turned out they had to wrong phone number a number I had never heard of. I got more disrespectful people on the phone when I called to confirm the address because I still wanted to talk to some about this and I got an even worse experience over the phone, someone yelling at me and being extremely hostile. I would love for Doctor Rao to know about this experience because she should strongly consider getting a new staff. You can… hire people for their skills and you even hire to train them to do the job itself, but proper work etiquette is something you can't teach on the job. This was the worse and most inconvenient experience for me.

Dr. Rao is one of the best medical professionals I have ever experienced. She was my surgeon for a Myomectomy. I was terrified at the thought of this surgery but Dr. Rao’s bedside manner really put me at ease. During the surgery, she removed 14 fibroids. Afterwards the incision so so very well sutured I barely felt it. My healing process was fast and there was very little pain. She went above and beyond to ensure I had the best of care in my follow up visits to gynecology. I would love to have a doctor like her for the long term. I recommend her to anyone in need of a surgeon.

Dr Rao is hands down the best doctor I’ve ever met. She is personable and charming. She has empathy which is what most Drs lack. She is truly exceptional

I would recommend Dr Roa to all my friends. Her office is very nice, staff is very informative and do everything they can to make sure you get the best care possible. The wait time is minimal, in both waiting room and in the exam room. I literally spent less time than I anticipated. Especially since I was a new patient. Was sent for extra testing and they made sure I didn't have to make a second trip. On top of that they scheduled me to be back in 3 days for the results. I can honestly say she is the best gynecologist I've ever seen (35 yrs)

Dr. Rao is a caring. professional doctor who spent time listening to me and my medical history. I had been seeing another gynecologist who retired. At first I was reluctant to make change, but I am TOTALLY happy with Dr. Rao and have recommended her to several friends who were equally impressed.

I began seeing Dr Rao about a year ago. She is such a kind and caring person. I absolutely cannot believe anyone would have anything negative to say about her. She listens to my concerns with a very caring and concerned attitude. She follows up as she promises and offers compassionate care. I will never see anyone else as long as she is available in this area!

These negative reviews of Dr. Rao are quite surprising. I went to her a year ago as a new patient after a change in my insurance. I ended up having to have major surgery. Imagine being with one doctor for more than 10 years, then having to go to a new doctor for surgery. It was very scary for me, but she was very professional and kind. Even after surgery, she was awesome. When I had questions, she was super responsive and took all of my concerns very seriously. She was certainly a great decision for me.
