I do not recommend this doctor. I was greatly disappointing in the brevity of time that Dr. Troop actually spent with me. I got the impression that he had decided what to do before even speaking with me. I came to him for a second opinion after months of unsuccessful physical therapy for knee pain. I brought MRI images, and gave the disc to a assistant, but when I asked Dr. Troop about the images he refused to look at them. He administered cortisone injections, and then while he was on his way out of the exam room I asked about practicing my sport (figure skating), and he said that I should take 4-6 weeks off from practice. I was floored that this sort of information was an afterthought for him: if I had not asked I wouldn't not have known that I needed to take so much time off. I was guessing that I needed maybe 1-2 weeks off. I realized later that day that I had forgotten to ask him what activities I could do safely while I took time off from my sport. The fact that he himself did not make it a point to discuss these matters with me seem to indicate that he had little to no interest in actually helping me deal with my pain in a safe and productive manner. For what it's worth, my appointment was late in December, so they might have been overbooked with people wanting to get in before the end of the year before having a new deductible to meet. But even granting that, I don't think this is a good place to go. Seems more like a factory than a doctors office, aiming at efficiently getting as many patients seen in one day as possible.
