We had no idea that our son had a heart defect till he was lifeflighted to Champaign,then lifeflight to peoria it was there that we met Dr. Fortuna. He put it to us point blank what had to happen and the risk involved.For that I am grateful Thanks to him my son is a healthy happy boy growing and the staff at O.S.F. was very nice to us. This is the first time I have ever experienced any heart defects in my family. We give Dr.Fortuna and staff on PICU,and NICU 10 stars. Thank You

We are extremely pleased with the services of Dr. Fortuna and the nursing and cardiology staff. Dr. Fortuna was extremely cautious in the surgery and recovery of Mychaela....taking the time to make sure she was well on the road to a proper and full recovery. The staff of PICU was exceptional and we left there being friends, the entire staff extended their talents during our 5 week stay. We are greatful for the wonderful care and consideration given to our 5 month old.

Peoria and communities that the Children's Hospital of Illinois serves are truly blessed to have such a specialized, excellent surgeon such as Dr. Fortuna. He is skilled, thorough, and personable. My child has received extrememly competent and excellent care from Dr. Fortuna.

Dr. Randall Fortuna was responsible for my son's death in 2006. He acted neglagent and then covered it up. To take him to court to sue him, we are required to provide an expert witness who is a fellow pediatric cardiac surgeon, and from my understanding, there are only a few of these in the U.S. and they all know each other and would not testify against one another. My wife and I and others involved, including at least 3 of the lawyers we hired, agree with us....we just could not provide an expert witness.

Dr. Fortuna has performed four surgeries on our newborn son. He has done an excellent job on each and every one. We owe our son's life to him.
