Dr. Randi Allison Axelrod, MD

I met Dr. Axelrod the 2 days after the birth of my daughter. The hospital I had her at leaves the baby with the mother at all times. My daughter’s birth had been difficult and trying to get her to breast feed had been even more difficult, so we had to begin supplementing with formula. She was gassy and crying non-stop. By this second day, I had about 3 hours of sleep since I had given birth and was still in pain from a c-section. My daughter and I finally fell asleep around 6am. By 7am I was awoken by Dr. Axelrod screaming at me because I had left a half used bottle of formula at my bedside that I might ‘accidentally’ give to my child past it’s expiration. My daughter had also soiled her diaper in the time we had been sleeping and spit up a little. She began raising her voice, accusing me of neglecting my child, and asking me if I think it’s going to be easier to care for her once I get home and there are no nurses to help me. At this time, I should mention that I am 28 years old and… in no way a child that she needs to speak to like that. She continues to strip my child and leaves her naked for me to dress, as I sit there completely dumbfounded that this even just happened. She then stormed out of the room and I never saw her again.

The doctor was the pediatrician for my baby for his discharge. There was no follow up on anything. I did not even see this Doctor but her name is on the discharge paperwork.
