Dr. Rani Manpreet Gill, MD

Rani Gill (I won't call her Doctor) was deplorable. The VA should be embarrassed for having her on their staff treating Veterans. Even when I was in military the Doctors (in the military) had more respect for us and treated us better. She makes the VA look bad. Her level of disdain can't be beat. I left the VA and went back to using TRICARE prime. I was seen 2 days later and had my issues addressed. After discussing the problems with the Doctor and nurse, they made sure I understood the plan and treatment. I could go on about her crappie treatment and lack of respect for Veterans but I have better things to do.

Three weeks after a sinus surgery, my wife suddenly began having strange symptoms. She had a headache, felt faint, and experienced blurred vision. While explaining that to me, she began complaining of strange numbness in her left arm, and was wondering if it was related to an injury the month before. However, in the process of talking about it, her speech became very slurred and she was mildly confused. I rushed her to the ER at Huntsville Hospital. By the time we arrived, her speech was almost normal (but not quite) and the numbness was gone. She still had a headache. I should mention she has a blood clotting disorder and was hospitalized for bilateral pulmonary embolism last year, directly following a surgery. The ER doctors were great. All the staff said I did the right thing by bringing her in, as even a basic Google search about slurring of speech and numbness will confirm. They rushed her into a CT scan and an MRI. Neither showed damage or other evidence of stroke, which was… consistent with her symptoms dissipating. Their thoughts were that it was likely a TIA, or less likely a migraine. She has never had a migraine and has a clotting disorder, so that made them lean more towards a TIA. On that basis, they kept her overnight for observation and further testing, to ensure a full on stroke wasn't coming. Her first doctor in Observation was great. As were all the nurses. However, around 8:00 AM Doctor Gill entered the room and asked “you came to the ER for a headache?!” My wife was astounded that Gill hadn't even consulted her chart. My wife tried to explain the situation and the counsel of the other doctors, when Gill continued reading the chart and then made a remark, “oh, you had sinus surgery – of course you have a headache!” This was incredibly unprofessional, if not outright rude. Gill's advice to my wife was to follow up with her ENT (slurred speech has nothing to do with sinus surgery). When my wife told her that her hematologist would be more equipped to deal with this, being a potential clotting issue, she asked in surprising tone, “oh, you have a hematologist?” Yes. All of this was well noted, Gill just hadn't bothered to read it nor did she listen when it was explained to her. Further, a previous Doctor in the ER had recommended a neurologist visit and said one would be scheduled, which I assume is to investigate whether this was a migraine, the other potential cause. Gill acted surprised that a neurologist would be involved and shrugged that request off, though we will discuss and pursue that with our primary physician. Since Gill was the physician who saw my wife at her discharge, she wrote her final paperwork. Her diagnosis? “Headache, numbness, slurred speech.” In other words, the symptoms, and not an actual diagnosis. Diagnosis is defined as “the identification of the nature of an illness or other problem by examination of the symptoms.” I recognize there is no way to diagnose, without further testing, whether this was a TIA or a migraine, but jotting the symptoms down is no diagnosis – we knew this before we left the house! This was very disappointing and even disturbing. It is as if Gill completely shrugged off a serious health issue without even understanding what had happened. This is completely unacceptable, especially when someone's life is at stake.

HORRIBLE!!!! Don't waste your time

Dr. Gill was professional and competent during my day stay at HH ER unit in her care. She had a concerning air about my problem and follow-up treatment, and I would recommend her to friends for treatment.

The doctor is useless, no knowledge but care for money only. Stupid doctor rani gill.

Delays treatment, refuses treatment, worst bedside manner.

I would only recommend this doctor if i had a friend that was dying and lost in a desert and she was the only available doctor. But she would probably show up and tell my friend how stupid and pathetic he/she is. And then proceed to tell them that they were a pathetic waste of time. Dont try to show her important paperwork because she wont even look at it. She should never have been hired. I cant believe she hasnt been fired. I hope someone sues her but for malpractice real soon. I know this all sounds real harsh. I would have too. Actually i thought the other reviews were a little critical. But i found out for myself. If u are dying go somewhere else. If your healthy go ahead. She doesnt have time for SICK patients.

This doctor Gill lies about what tests she can give if she's too busy or wants to go home. I told her I had just tested positive for a pregnancy at home and she wanted to put me on steroids. She Openly Admitted the steroids would be harmful to a new pregnancy but would not test me again to be sure (saying the lab did not have the test while a lab tech and four nurses said that yes they have the test and it only take a little bit to process.) She then said "Well do you want the prescription or not?" And i replied "not if it can be harmful." And she WALKED OUT on me, did not return, just left me in the room till a nurse came and was like "oh you're still here? she said you were done" Dr. Gill THEN DELETED my insurance information out of my patient file so i would be billed for the full amount when i had not been rendered ANY services at all what so ever.
