Dr. Kalugamage Ranjit Fernando, MD

Dr Fernando is well crafted and experienced. He is always thorough at each visit. However, he is very silent in his methodology leaving me curious of his thoughts. Suffice to say he is a man of few words, which bothers me because I have to ask what is going on. I agree with other raters that the office is soooo old and cruddy, I hate it. I would think he earns enough money to bring it to the 21st century. Over the years I have watched as the office has gone from old school ledgers and files to attempting a computer system. Although the staff are long term and friendly I believe there should be more privacy between their work area and the waiting patients and the checking out patients. At some point this establishment must move toward accepting electronic payment.

I have been going to Dr, Fernando for over 30 years, he has rescued me many times when my arthritis flares up. I would not trust anyone else but him for my health and have used him for a second opinion many times for other matters. His staff has also been with him for many years, all my other doctors I see change staff but these girls stay with him and they know everyone by name.

I think Dr. Fernando is my favorite out of all my doctors(10). His taste in office decor maybe be stuck in the 1980s, but his level of care and genuine compassion amazes me every time. He seems to be very busy and it seems like he is well liked by his other patients. His nurses and staff are friendly and very professional. I hope he continues practicing for a very long time.

I have had rheumatoid arthritis since age 27. Have been treated by specialists at Johns Hopkins hospital and others. Am now 73 and a patient of Dr Fernando. I have complete confidence in Dr Fernando. He quickly responds to my "emergency" episodes and is quick to diagnosis the problem. I have never had such a complete checkup as I have had on each routine visit with Dr Fernando. I trust him completely and would strongly recommend him as a rheumetologist.

Seems to be a very good doctor, and seems to know his stuff. The office staff is very nice and if I had one negative thing t o say his office does not take credit or debut cards but cash or check is ok...

Very rude office staff. They moved my appointment up and I missed it. The lady called and berated me over phone that the doctor could have seen 4 patients during that time.. I apologized and she complained 3 more times about it and said the doctor was really unhappy with me. No Thank you.

I have to wait a few months to get in to him but it was well worth the wait. He is a compassionate, caring, understanding, and trusting. His diagonis was right. His office staff is the best I ever seen! I highly recommend him.
