Dr. Rao Rama Meka, MD

Waited 2 hours just to get called to the back. Waited another hour to be seen. Dr. Meka cuts you off when you’re asking him questions about your condition or flat out ignores you. I’ve been to him twice and it was this way both times. He told me I couldn’t have my EDG and colonoscopy on the same day because insurance wouldn’t cover it. When I got the bill and called my insurance, they said I could’ve saved a few hundred dollars if I had them on the same day. Then I found out from his biller that he schedules them different days to get paid more. Is this not insurance fraud?!?! He’s very rude and unprofessional. While talking to me in the room at my second visit he answered a phone call to talk about buying land. This went on for more than 5 minutes. Then when he got off, he said he HAD to talk to that guy. No apologies about it though! He just laughed and continued to ignore my questions and cut me off when I talked. I’ll never go back and wish I hadn’t to start with. I started going… to another doctor in the area who is taking great care of me and has more professional office. I’m in and out of there in 1 hour too.

Dr R. Meka was excellent he explained everything before and after tests were done

I started going to Dr. Meka after going to another Dr. for over 16 years. This other Dr. would not do anything to find what was wrong with me.I feel better since I have started going to Dr. Meka. Dr. Meka has taken the time to find what was wrong with me. His wait time is lengthy becuase he takes time with his patients.

Waiting room time - over an hour to 2 hours.Takes over a week to get prescriptions called in then wrong medicines are called in.Missed severe cardiac problem day before emergency triple bypass.Can't talk to anyone when you call, voice mail 90% of the time that go unanswered.

Dr. Meka has been treating my mother for years and she refuses to leave him because she said he knows her so well. Yeah he knows her so well alright. She had a tumor on her adrenal gland that he let go undiagnosed for 4 years because he kept treating her for a urinary tract infection! After I talked with a physician friend of mine he suggested that she have a special test done which found the tumor. Now she has a tumor in her kidney that he felt "didn't need any follow up". The tumor is huge. I again talked with a friend of mine that is a physician and he stated she should have this seen immediately. My mother has also have horrific back pain now for almost 6 months and he keeps telling her there's nothing wrong with her back. I've called their office 5 times to talk with someone and have gotten no return call. Their office has written permission from my mother to talk with me but they refuse to call me. I've filed complaints with the medical license board twice about this doctor. His… license to practice medicine should be suspended. His office staff is rude, they do not follow up. I also have first hand knowledge of how this doctor operates. Before all these problems with my mother I let her talk me into seeing him for a problem. He said I needed an upper GI done. He almost choked me to death with the scope during the procedure. I came out of the procedure with 2 black eyes from the gagging, busted blood vessels all over by face. Had to see an eye specialist. This guy is a hack and doesn't need to be practicing medicine!!!

Dr. Meka was a Dr. I have only been to once. This office was SO unprofessional! They do. They do not have a receptionist, no one greeted me and I wanted to leave once I got there. I felt like I was in a doctors office in a 3rd world country. The nurse that finally called me back was speaking poor English and looked very unhygenic and was missing most her teeth, which doesn't matter but she didn't take care of herself and how could I expect her to take care of me. The dr spoke broken English and his nurse had to translate for him. The dr was wearing an old dr's coat that was dirty and old. His eyes had major black circles on them, he looked sick and Again he didn't look like he took care of himself so how could I trust him to take care of me??? He did not answer my questions or address my concerns. I did not trust his opinion and ideas. The dr did not follow standard professional procedures. His nurse was very rude. I am so mad at myself for not walking out but I just needed to get… bloodwork drawn at a lab and needed the dr to request it. Now they will not tell me my blood results or release my results to me but they say they will if I come to another appointment. Over my dead body am I going back there. I waited an hour in their office to walk out without my bloodwork results. Their office manager and billing person was Extremely rude and distrespectful and threatened me. This practice should be shut down!!!!! Now I am working with my insurance co to get my blood work results. Please DO NOT waste your time or money at Dr. Meka's "office"!!!!!!!!! You will regret it!
