Dr. Raul Montalvo, MD

Like many other posts on here I can confirm this guy is Terrible, with a capital “T”. If you’re looking for arrogance, rudeness, and incompetence, you’ve found your guy. Any post on here that says otherwise is prob a fake burner account or a paid shill. I’m yet to meet an actual person that has been to montalvo that disagrees. After my doctor retired, montalvo inherited my case and I’ve been seeing him for a couple years. Haven’t been able to leave because other doctors in my area have reached patient capacity. I can confirm montalvo is about as awful as it gets. Repulsive clinician and rotten bedside manner. Doesn’t seem to enjoy his work or care for others, no emotional affect or social skills, and no eye contact. Surprised his picture here shows him smiling- almost didn’t recognize him because I’ve never seen him smile. Will never figure out how to help you, he will not refer out, and does not call you back. The only thing he does well is make excuses . Is prob in the wrong… profession- perhaps belongs alone in a lab somewhere playing with test tubes and rats, or pushing papers across a desk as a hospital administrator

They charge you differently every time depending on the mood of the doctor, even though is something as simple as sending you for lab test. The doctors don’t follow up with you, you have to make another appointment and pay more for them to take your vitals and not give you any solution Also, they will send the medication to your pharmacy and also to Express Scripts so you will ended up with 3 bills ( one for the doctor, one for your pharmacy, and one from Express Scripts) “My wife went to a regular visit, they sent the medication to Walgreens, we got it there. The following weekend we received the medication from Express Scripts coming directly from the Doctor (we have never agreed or used the service before)... they don’t accept returns. The practice asked me to get a doctamente saying that they (the doctor) placed that order, after I finally got it, they replied saying that they can’t do anything... When your try to talk with the administrator, they will last up to 2 months to… reply saying that they can’t help you because they use a 3rd party billing company. Definitely the most horrible experience...

In pain i called to see my Dr. And was told my Dr was not in but i could see the on call physician. I was seen by Dr. Montalvo. This physician did not look me in the eye once during my appointment standing with his back to me the entire time. I felt unseen, unheard and disrespected. If you want a physician who has empathy or compassion you might want tochoose another physician.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Montolvo. My cousin recommended him to me, I’m very glad I took her advise. Very nice, listens to everything you have to say and will take steps to figure out root cause instead of treating just symptoms. After 10 years of undiagnosed gallbladder issues, finally Dr. Montolvo refered me for an ultrasound where my therory was confirmed - gallbladder. That was over 2 years ago and I am forever thankful he listened and I am finally pain free!!

This doctor is rude! He is in the wrong business! His bedside manners are terrible. He doesn't want to listen at all. He rushes you out of the office so fast! He has an attitude as well! I would never recommend this doctor to anyone!

I've been seeing this doctor for three years. He's nice enough, but nice doesn't cut it when what you need is competence. My rule is after three strikes your out and I'm out. He excised a cyst from my back. It became so infected and he had to refer me to a surgeon to clean it up. Strike one. Last year he tried freezing a couple of flakey spots off my skin with nitrogen. Normally a dermatologists hits you with the frozen gas for a few seconds. The skin turns black and then in a week are two the scab flakes off. No big deal. But when he did it he burned me so severly it created a deep hole that took over six months to fully fill in and heal over. Now I have several large scars on my shins. Strike two. And, he can't seem to get perscription orders right. My provider needs three months, with 4 renewals. He gives me one month with no refills for a med I need for the rest of my life. Frustrating when I have to call office to get it straightened out .. again...a real pain. So adios Dr.… Montalvo.

Dr. Montalvo is the best Dr. I have seen in 40 years. He has the best bedside manner and listens to what I am really saying and takes time to really care about my personal feelings . I would not go to another doctor even if my insurance quit paying. He truly is a doctor who cares about his patience. I hope he never quits practicing medicine he s meant to heal people not only medically but spiritually. God Bless you Dr, Montalvo

It's really easy to get in the same day or next day. I usually just go in and tell him my symptoms in text book order. Then I like to give him a moment and see if he gets it right. With enough prodding, he does. When it comes to my asthma, I just tell him what I want and he gives it to me. Sometimes I can even get him to auscultate breath sounds. If you want more time with him, just get him talking. Of course last time I got Advair from him and he wrote it for once a day. It's actually suppose to be taken twice a day.... minor technicality. Also, he messed up my work physical. He forgot to report two dates on the test results and he didn't have me do titers that they needed.I completely agree with the comment that he'll send you to a specialist for most things.I really wouldn't recommend him if you get a choice.

I have had similar issues with this doctor. I feel compelled to rate this doctor after reading his other review, I now feel like it wasnt "just me". I have had similiar experences to the othe rater that rated him so poorly and who wrote a very lengthy explanation for his poor rating. I am in the process of finding another doctor. I found this site in hopes of finding a good docto. I am frusterated that I trusted Dr Montalvo, now I feel like I have to start over building a relationship with another doctor. I wish that there was a way for the lay person to find a truly good doctor, there is not enough reviews written on this site concerning doctors in my area and I am deeply concerned about placing my health in the hands of a doctor such as montalvo again. thank you
