Specialties

Dr. Raymond J Alderfer has the following 3 specialties

  • Internal Medicine

An internist is a physician who focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect the adult population—both acute and chronic.
These doctors are often who adults see as their primary physicians because they treat a broad range of illnesses that do not require surgical or specialist interventions. They also work to help a patient maintain optimal health in order to prevent the onset of disease.
In addition to treating the common cold and flu, internists also treat chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

  • Psychiatry

A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.

  • Neurology

A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.

Dr. Aldefer

The first couple visits I didn't care for Dr Aldefer. He was all business with not much bedside manner. The more I went to him he seemed to loosen up and became friendlier. He has really tried to get me on the correct meds and seems to care about me. I would recommend him to a friend. Just give him a little time to get to know you. I do think he is a good Dr.

Very Good Doctor

Dr. Alderfer is a very good doctor. My first impression of him was that he did not give a crap about his patients. But try him out. He really does care about your welfare. He just has a serious facial expression. He is very smart. I have had five different psychiatrist and he is by far the best one I have ever had. I trust him and feel very confident that he is working hard to find the best medication to help me. He also keeps in mind your ability to buy medicine. and trys to get programs for you if you can not afford medicine. He is just an all around good guy.

One Star

Dr. R. J.Alderfer is the most incompetent professional individual I have known. I have known and worked with the great and near greats in the Federal Government. He had made promises that he did not carry through with. Very rude and should be evaluated by RMH to determine if he id compent in treating members that need help. Others have written evaluations stating simular comments.

One Star

Alderfer was informed that my primary doctor had instructed me to take my wife to the appointments. He was requested verbally and in writing to interview her before meeting with me to determine what was the situation/problems. Alderfer ignored the requests and was very rude and abrubt.
