Dr. Raymond Louis Gonzalez, MD

I’ve had auto immune issues since 13. The average PCP has not the time or specialty to really understand what is going on in our bodies. I was referred to Dr. G and what I thought I knew by myself.. doing my own research, it left me astray and sick. He was kind.. and even though I didn’t understand what I was doing ( taking all the immune boosting supplements I could find ) he sat with me… even through his own lunch break and explained to me what was going on in My immune system. I was doing it all wrong and he explained in detail why snd how come. Not one single dr .. and I had so many specialists here in GR. He took the time to share with me…. It opened my eyes to the right path of where I could finally help myself the right way. I’ll be honest, I’ve seen over a dozen specialists in GR. In All specialities… and this secular god of a Doctor is our only hidden diamond in GR. His knowledge, care and thoughtfulness is something that is is truly genuine of his care. From just a few… appointments, it sent me down a beautiful path of awareness and advocating for myself. I was not crazy and I really have serious illnesses. Lupus, APS, Hyshi -Thyroiditits, Athsma, Severe food allergies, sjorgrens, MCTD, lupus pinniculitis, migraines…much more. I had/ have such severe GI issues that even though I wasn’t being seen for that per say.. he educated me on what so should be eating and shouldn’t bc of my diseases. I can not say enough about this man.. this one incredibly, educated and compassionate Specialist. I now have come a long way in advocating for myself… I understand and know that why and what choices I have in my care. I have a team of 9 Specialists at U of M at the Ann Arbor, Michigan location. I wouldn’t waste any of my time seeing anyone in GR if your having any auto immune or allergy concerns but Dr. G. It’s been such a long haul. I have had hydrogen breath tests to find out what my food allergies are .. blood and skin tests did not pull like these tests did.. and all because Dr. G made me confident and gave me the assurance that It wasn’t in my head. He ran all the tests he could.. they indicated enough to move to the next step which was U of M… just because I had so many things going on. My point is… With out a doubt.. if you have the desire to inquire and listen.. Dr. G is a game changer. Maybe he can’t repair or fix everyone.. after all he couldn’t just give me a prescription and I was cured.. but believe it or not … he IS SOO SOO intelligent and up to date on the homeostasis of the immunity of our bodies. My kids know that if I become stuck at a GR hospital before I get sent to U of M Ann Arbor… there are only two Doctors that I would allow to see me ( specialists) Dr. González and Dr. Ashack ( dermatology). My deepest thank you and gratitude goes to these two. I haven’t had the chance to tell Dr. G what he’s done for me in my long road of advocating! I am now under great care; medications and a long term plan if care. At the age of 42 I advocated for myself and won my disability case. Nothing can ever, ever replace the feeling of someone believing in you and moving you forward into the best care that you need. Thank you so much Doctor .. I’m eternally and humbly thankful for your genuine care. I’m finally at peace and very educated about my health.. and I’m finally living my optimal life of health that I can achieve!!!

25 years ago Dr. G. was my doctor for repeated sinus infections, he grew tired of the constant requests for antibiotics without ever checking Igg levels . I’ve since learned an immune deficiency is the culprit . Hopefully he’s more informed now …

Dr. Gonzalez is phenomenal. I have never felt better. I couldn't sleep due to coughing. I had tried to find solutions with other doctors for years and nothing. He is usually not on time with his appointments, but he is worth the wait. He really takes time with you.

Great doctor and staff!

I am not one for doctors. I have never liked them. When I was forced to go to Dr. Gonzalez for the first time all alone I was so frightened. When I got to the office, I was still a little uneasy and did not know what to expect. When I finally met him he shook my hand and asked me questions about my daily life. He was so kind and explained things to me in ways I understood. When I didn't understand things, I asked and he told me in a simpler way. The allergy testing itself was performed by a nurse and she did a great job. She talked with me, was very calming, and informed me on what she was doing. Every time I leave that office I walk out with a smile on my face. I have another appointment tomorrow and I enjoy going. I personally recommend Dr. Gonsalez because he is an outstanding physician.

I see alot of doctors, Dr. Gonzalez is by far the Best!!!

Dr. Gonzalez is a very caring and a very smart doctor. From our conversations, I think he is probably the best allergist/immunologist in Grand Rapids. He is also a very good empathetic listener. I wish Dr. Gonzalez continued success.
