During three appointments with Dr. Mallya over the course of six months I stressed that my depression was not under control and was, in fact, worsening. At the first appointment she said it was only temporary. The second time she seemed more concerned but still did not adjust or change my medication. At the third appointment she said the depression was "just a feeling" and again did not adjust my medicine. I went to a different Doctor and my new Psychiatrist increased my medicine (Pristiq) by 50mg and my symptoms improved greatly.Dr. Mallya does not listen to her patients and is unwilling/unable to make the smallest effort to help her patients. Please look elsewhere in your search for a Psychiatrist. This Doctor is a waste of time (and money)!

Dr. Mallya told my 16 year old daughter with major depression that this was the best she was going to feel and to stop expecting that medication was going to help her anymore than it was. What a devastating thing to say! We never went back. The next psychiatrist we saw, immediately changed my daughter's medications and she has been much better and functioning very well through college and grad school. I encourage you to choose another doctor.
