Dr. Rebecca Litchfield Lamb, MD

Bear in mind this review is from our experience of having our youngest child delivered by Dr. Lamb in the 1980's. Since we had had 2 previous babies delivered.... that's how we can compare. My wife's grandmother was dying during my wife's pregnancy. Dr. Lamb listened and consoled with heartfelt sympathy. Dr. Lamb exhibited confidence and experience throughout my wife's prenatal visits. The best part was that the doctors with the other children did an "automatic" episiotomy. Dr. Lamb explained that she felt hopeful this could be avoided. And due to her experience and skillful practice, she was able to prevent this painful extra healing process so we could enjoy our new baby with less pain and hassle. If you can get Dr. Lamb as your gynocologist, grab her. She's the best.

In 1990, Dr. Lamb diagnosed me with VENEREAL WARTS after I had an abnormal pap smear. I was in my early 20s but had attended my appointment with my mother. Dr. Lamb FORCED ME to TELL MY MOTHER that I was sexually active. I was an ADULT and should NOT have been REQUIRED to do that. MOREOVER, she told me I needed a $10,000 surgery. LUCKILY, I got a second opinion from Dr. Patterson. As it turns out, I didn't need surgery as she claimed. When I asked him if I had venereal, he was very professional and said that he "didn't see that now." It has been 28 years since I saw this woman, and I have YET to have any further abnormal pap smears, nor has ANY DOCTOR "diagnosed me" with ANY venereal disease. Many other women admitted terrible appointments and experiences with her. I am so surprised to see here on this website as still practicing in Columbia. Last I heard she closed practice and left town. Coincidentally, she isn't even listed as a licensed doctor in the state of Missouri.
