Dr. Rebecca Mathilde Martin, DO

I saw Dr. Martin in the ER at Dupont Hospital about nine years ago. It was very early in my pregnancy and I was having pain and bleeding. She was rude from the start and the nurse told me that Dr. Martin was in a bad mood and didn't want to be there. I asked for an ultrasound and she reluctantly called in the tech to do it. She then told me that I needed a cath and the nurse said it was not needed but if I choose not to do it she would not release me and insurance would not pay for it. Long story-short, she said I was fine. The next day my obgyn did ultrasound and I had a tubal pregnancy. Ironically I was sent back to the same hospital to end the pregnancy. My first question was, "Who is the doctor?" The nurse was the same nurse from the night before and cried with me and apologized for what happened the night before. Dr. Martin was unprofessional, uncaring, and I will never forget her. If you don't want to do your job, or don't care about people, then you need to find a new… profession. I was to upset and had no idea how to file a complaint, I had been trying for 10 years to get pregnant. I have tried and am still trying to forgive her but that pain is always there. I have never gone to another ER for any type of treatment because of my experience with her and the hospital.
