Dr. Rebecca Ann Pawlik, MD

I was thrown to her as I was told I needed to see a doc ASAP and my primary was on vacation. She is rude, she talks down to you and, as with most docs, feels as though they are smarter than you, which they are not. She talked down to me and threw out a bunch of BS when I asked her about a medication. I am more prepared than most doctors I see so she thought her bS could fly with me. But when a lady starts to get an attitude with you and tells you a bunch of nonsense to prove her nonexistent point I just shut up and listen, no sense in trying to talk to someone who knows it all. Horrible doctor as with most I have found at IHA. I left wit no medication for my infections and was told to come back in a few weeks to spend 200 more dollars talking with yet another IHA doctor that half listens to you. Family docs are not good for much except to sign for some general scripts and give you a referral to go and talk with someone who actually knows what they are doing. You can go see her but you… will be disappointed if you have ever had an good doctor.

Went in for a wellness check and was due for a Pap smear/ pelvic exam. I thought I would be more comfortable with a female dr over a man. Being a fellow woman herself, you would think that she might be gentle and understanding. Nope! She seemed very rushed and literally just rammed that speculum into me. I yelled out in pain and my eyes immediately filled with tears. It hurt so bad! I don't know if it was the pain or the shock of everything, but I remember her adjusting it a tiny bit and asking "does that feel a little better?" It didn't. I guess this was one instance where her rushing was beneficial bcuz it was over pretty fast. But I've never had a pelvic exam be that painful before. I think I even tore a little bit bcuz I bled a little after. I don't know if maybe she's used to mostly seeing women who have given birth before? But that was a very unpleasant experience and Im 30 years old. I would caution any mothers who are taking their teenage daughters in for birth control or… anything like that... Find someone who is gentle! Sheesh!

Will not be going back to see her ever again! I have an extreme fear of needles and a pretty bad anxiety disorder. Anytime I step foot in a medical setting, and know it's for me I get nervous. It doesn't help that she is big on pushing injections on her patients.. Every time I went I was offered the flu shot, among other things.. And politely declined, but then was asked why I wouldn't get one, and when I answered my concerns were discounted by her. I was told I had to get a tetnus booster and bloodwork. Knowing this, I can literally feel my heart start to race as soon as I pull into the parking lot there. It only gets worse as I wait in the waiting room to be called back. It's like my body goes into a state of panic that I can't control. Naturally, my blood pressure is through the roof anytime I have to see her. I did not feel that she was empathetic to my situation at all. She threatened to put me on blood pressure medication if it was high again the next time I came in, and I'm in… my 20's! That's absurd! Of course it was high the next time! Number 1, I don't like being threatened. And number 2, because I was terrified of being forced to take medication I knew I didn't need. My BP is always in a normal range at home. Call it white coat syndrome if you will, but I really felt that she didn't care to listen to me. She also put me on an anti-depressant drug to try and help control my anxiety (which didn't help in the slightest.. I am glad to say I am no longer taking it though and I am fine)... I was concerned about the side effects when she mentioned it to me, so that's the first question I asked.. And was given the lamest, most generic response I've ever heard. It was almost like SHE didn't know the answers to my questions herself. I always felt rushed by her and again, I feel that she is very cold and to be blunt- (because this is the only word I can think of to describe her accurately) a b**ch! We as patients should be treated as more than just a walking dollar sign.

Brought my teen daughter in to see her about school anxiety. Without further evaluating my daughter for possible medical causes and solutions to her anxiety causes the doctors first and only recommendation a was to put my daughter on ssri antideressants which after further research were found to have a multitude of negative side affects as well as a black box warning against prescribing this type of medication to teenagers. The doctor was appalled and agravated that we did not follow her recommendation for treatment with medication. I wonder how many other young lives this good doctor has impacted by prescribing such dangerous medication to young children. Needless to say my daughter chose not to take the medication and is now seeing a psychologist for cognitive behaviour therapy and we are now looking for a new doctor that has more clinical experience in these type of matters and base their solutions on science rather than conjecture.

Dr, Pawlik gives a very thorough examination and spends enough time with her patients to answer your questions. She is a very good doctor.

Unbelievable! This doctor surely doesn't have her patient's best interest at heart. I recently broke my ankle and was rendered completely helpless. I was in desperate need of her assistance to get skilled nursing help as I'm a single, 60-year old female, who lives alone. Due to a pre-existing condition, the crutches provided at time of discharge were useless. Need I say more? Picture yourself, virtually a prisoner in your home, because your doctor refuses to intervene to ensure you get the help you need. Beware!!!

One visit one, Dr. Pawlik saw me for a brief physical..she never had me take of clothes and barely examined me. The next year, I needed a pelvic exam and she was very poor at explaining when and what she was doing. I felt really violated. I left the office crying.

I took my daughter in to see her on numerous occasions for depression. Each time the medicine didn't work, I had to drag her back in. She wouldn't have a backup plan that we could try to avoid coming in every couple of weeks. She is very inexperienced and clueless. She gave my daughter medicine that even the internet warns not to give teenagers. Wait until 20 years go by if you decide to see this doctor. She has alot to learn.

Follows a flowchart of questions but lacks the ability/experience to put together the information into an accurate diagnosis. Seems to jump to conclusions that are not based on the patient as much as the overall "probability" based on overall statistics. As a patient, you might as well use an Internet diagnosis flowchart. Has some odd bias/preferences and is rather closed minded as well.

Oh how I miss my experienced doctor. She is rude. I had to wait forever and then was told she didn't have enough time for my exam but also because she spent so much time on questions. No respect of my time or for me as a patient. I felt she was condescending and also made me feel dumb. It was a waist of my time and I'm upset I need to find another doctor. I only had to change in the first place because I have different insurance.
