I went to see Dr. Bielkus after a hospital stay for numbness on left side. She was an hour late seeing me and when I did finally get into see her, she was very dismissive. Went over my tests from the hospital with me and that's about it. Then she ordered an ultrasound of my brain. I went back for a second appointment to discuss results with her. I explained I have been having balance issues for many years. She said there is nothing more she could do for me but then I get a call today that she wants to see me for more tests. I'm not so sure I want to see her for the results.

Office has an appearance and vibe of being above patients concerns when displaying Hermes scarves as wall hangings and marathon medals. Staff did not make sure forms were filled out properly and I was never allowed to speak with doctor on phone concerning the reason for a certain decision.

I've been seeing Dr Bielkus for 2 1/2 years and I am Completely happy with my treatment and care with Dr Bielkus. I moved to Michigan 2 years ago and still drive back to Rockford IL for check ups each year. Its well worth the time and effort.

On first visit, she spent 5 minutes with my husband and proceeded to prescribe 5 medications. No test, no labs JUST medications after 6 months of this I switched him to a different doctor who cut out all the meds she precribed and ordered test the first visit which lasted over an hour with him. sorry but I feel she is just a legal drug pusher.

Please consider who a Neurologist sees all day...people with really unpleasant problems. A Neurologist cannot afford to be all warm and fuzzy, like your Internist..it would be too difficult. I've been seeing Dr. Bielkus for 12 years and highly recommend her.
