Dr. Reham El Gammal, MD

Dr. El Gammal is incompetent and negligent. My daughter was developing breasts at the age of 5 and I shared my concerns along with those of her teacher with Dr. El Gammal. Not only was she dismissive but she called my daughter fat. If you saw a photo of my then 5-year old, you wouldn’t see a fat kid. After a second unsuccessful visit/attempt to get Dr. El Gammal to test for Precocious Puberty, I changed to University Hospital Pediatrics. The Nurse Practitioner took one look at my daughter who by then had turned 6 and recommended testing and referred us to Pediatric Endocrinology immediately. Within two weeks we had an official diagnosis of Precocious Puberty. All of the tests confirmed that my 6 year old was indeed going through puberty way too early. She was literally on the verge of starting a cycle by age 7! Furious doesn’t even describe how I felt hearing the doctors share this news. Thankfully, my daughter’s team worked efficiently and we were able to start Hormone Suppression… Therapy just in time to preserve her childhood. She’s almost 8 now and we’ve been on the right track for the last 1.5 years. Fooling with Dr. El Gammal would’ve caused my daughter more unnecessary suffering. I wrote a complaint to the medical board of Ohio only to be told they couldn’t do anything because lovely Dr. El Gammal conveniently failed to note my complaints in my daughter’s chart. Yes… she omitted important health information. So now I’m here warning every parent I can to avoid her like the plague. Everything I’ve shared is documented. If your child has a possible serious issue and she tries to downplay it, GET A SECOND OPINION ASAP!! I may not be able to charge her with Medical Negligence but I will make sure it’s known how she failed my daughter.
