Dr. Rene Latoni

I have been seeing Dr. Latoni for well over 15 years. Since his own medical health has gone down hill, so has his memory and his prescribing of medications has been "off" to say the least! He phoned in to my pharmacist my 9 yr old with special needs, the wrong medication, then they pharmacy called him to correct just for him to then give an ADULT dosage to my child! That then had to be corrected! He also has been over medicating me with upper's and downer's together and when I called in to get something for sleep, he phones in a controlled substance! When I called his office & spoke with the "head nurse" to switch it to a NON controlled substance, and brought up the fact that he made a mistake on my son's medication as well as my last one, she even agreed it was an error and the dosage was way too high in both cases! Long story short, I have the last 2 phone calls recorded just as I warned the lady on the phone I was doing and now I am "banned" from the practice, which we were looking… for a new doctor anyway no big deal, but to put in a letter I made a threat, which I certainly did not per my recordings, now is going to my attorney. Careful when you say the patient did something when they didn't and YOU were recorded. Beware of this practice!! This doctor will ask YOU what YOU want phoned in, per my recorded phone conversation. I have been over medicated for over a decade on a drug that I now have a professional helping me get off of. BEWARE!!!

I had been a patient of dr Latoni for at least 5 years. At first them made it appear they are a Christian group but they changed when Gwinnett Medical group bought their practice. I am very disable and also have many medical conditions which Dr Latoni has been fully aware of. They put me on Loratab which I asked to take anti inflammatory a but was told every visit to take my Loratab because I tske Xerelto a blood thinner. I have ADHD with Anxiety and have taken Xanax for over 10+years. 2 months ago they told me when I called for my regions to "choose mental or physical". They could not prescribe both and since I have severe anxiety I told them fine than prescribe that one. They did not wean me off the Lotstab and I was sick resulting in my diabetes reaching an AIC of 11. My blood pressure at my appointment was over160 over 70. I had to wait to see my doctor because my husband is my caregiver and have to be on a pick line for antibiotics he was very sick and my only ride so I… couldn't come in in exactly 3 months. After 5 years of treating me they dropped me as a patient because my last AIC was 11 the ones before that for over a year were below 8 and in the low 7 range. They had my nerves so bad from the many rude statements by Meridith and I suffered extreme anxiety. This group are not caring of their patients and will refuse your major medications like insulin Xerelto or anything you need to stay alive unless you come in every 3 months no matter how long you have been there patient. I could write a book on the issues I have suffered because of this group. I will never trust a doctor who sells out to hospitals mostly you become a money patient with no care for your life.

He is a wonderful physician, smart, up to date on current practice guidelines and a caring demeanor.

Horrible experience for a new patient! After scheduling for Dr. Latoni and them calling me to confirm everything and fasting for 12 hours for blood work, I got there 15 min early and ended up waiting another 1hr 10min and watched 3 people go in front of me after arriving at early for my 11am appt. I believe they just forgot and you can imagine how hungary i was at noon after not eating until the night before for blood work and a simple check up. UN FREAKIN PROFESSIONAL...funny thing is in their paperwork they have the right to charge you a fee if you cancel within 24hrs but what about when they forget about you and don't meet their appt. STAY AWAY AND FIND A BETTER physician that actually cares about their patients!

I've been seeing Dr. Latoni for over 8 years. We have a great relationship and seem to "get" each other. I am a type 2 diabetic and have a family history of heart disease. He knows I am an informed patient and he takes my ideas into consideration when I want to try new things. We always follow up after something new is tried. He goes over lab results with me and answers any questions I have in plain english allowing me time to make notes.

I was having chest pain and pain in my left arm during exertion. I asked to be referred to a cardiologist. He literally laughed out loud. He stated that I was probably suffering from severe indigestion as those symptoms manifest themselves much the same way. He begrudgingly gave me a referral to a cardiologist after I explained my family history. HE said "I'll give you the referral but I think you're wasting your time." I had a QUADruple bypass within weeks of the visit. He is also one of the worst I have ever attended regarding punctuality. I no longer use this doctor.
