Dr. Renee M Carisio Farber, MD

I did not appreciate her closing her practice with no notification. I needed her and she was running away. Her staff even told me she didn't inform them either. Took me a week to locate my records then I had to start over with a new doctor.

I was refered to Dr. Farber and I went. I needed a yearly physical, and wanted to talk a little about conceiving. My husbands one and only child from another marriage died by the end of the day he was born. She came in and i explained my husband's son's history. She took me down the hall to get blood taken for testing, and then left me there. The girl that took my blood didnt say anything, and after she drew my blood she was gone. So there I sat. So I took it upon myself to go back to my room where I waitid for atleast 15 minutes. I could hear Dr. Farber talking and the nurse (very young), so since I was already dressed, because the dr. never came back, I got my stuff and walked to the check out window, and the receptionist was there and the young nurse was sitting in there with her. The receptionist said can I help you?? (not rude, but not the friendliest) and I said yeah, I guess..(I was a little confused because the dr never came back, and my physical had not been done*the… major reason I came). And the receptionis said well do you need an appointment?? I said I guess so.. thinking well maybe here they consultate about what they do and then actually do it the following time. a little strange, but was going to give her the benefit of the doubt. The receptionist said, well honey the door is right there and pointed behind me. I left furiated. A few weeks later I received an $800 bill for blood tests that my insurance did not cover. So I got to pay $120 for the visit, and an additional $800 for the blood work that I NEVER GOT THE RESULTS TO!! And when I called her office to try to get the results, her office was no longer there. hmm...wonder why. Will never go to her again.

Dr. Farber was disorganized, neglected to inform me about requirements prior to surgery and defensive when questioned. I elected not to have the surgery with her.

I'm a huge fan of Dr. Carisio, who delivered our first child. I'm an older mother and wants a doctor who has excellent judgment, exceptional technical skills, and who can communicate with me effectively. Dr. Carisio is just that doctor. She is to the point, but not abrasive. She listens and answers my questions and instills confidence in me that she knows what she is doing. She is highly skilled in her surgical skills - she actually cares what that c-section scar is going to look like later on. She makes excellent judgment calls and we had complete trust in her when there were complications during my labor. She is friendly, but don't expect someone who will fawn all over you or try to be your best friend. She's your doctor and will give you the best advice she knows.

Dr. Carisio was incredibly kind, warm, understanding and knowlegable. She takes her time with me. My GP is impressed with Dr. Carisio and that's saying a lot. I have moved an hour away and I still go back to her.

I had a very bad experience with Dr. Carisio for the birth of my first child. i found her dismissive in our office visits, impatient and rough with her nursing and administrative staff. I had complications during birth, had to go back for follow-up surgery due to a mistake during my C-section. during my routine visits, i found her defensive about the problem and she wouldn't take adequate time to discuss with me what happened. I also saw significant tension between Dr. Carisio and her female partner in the office. I will not go back to her care for any subsequent pregnancies I have.
