Dr. Renzo Zaldivar

The Dr. is personable and professional. The STAFF is AWFUL! They called me to cancel the follow up and gave me 2 choices to reschedule that were totally inconvenient. I asked for a refund, and I'm still not sure I will get that. I will have to call my Credit Card provider to get it done. The woman was rude and actually LAUGHED at me when I said the times and locations they offered me were not convenient. I suggest you find someone else for your surgery. The STAFF ruined this situation. All the negative reviews I read were STAFF oriented.

With only three days notice my Dr. Zaldivar cancelled my DCR surgery. The nurse told me I should go to another doctor as I would be a difficult patient. The Dr. they recommended that did not even offer the type of surgery I needed. This practice is more interested in money than patient care. The surgery center in Greensboro told me I needed to pay $400 up front as Medicare would not cover everything. I told her to file with Medicare and they would forward the balance to Tricare. They refused to listen to me and hung up. I have had this type of insurance for several years and never had a problem with any other medical providers. Also I wanted to try to get my surgery earlier than 4pm and they refused to even look at other available surgery centers. My first consultation bill was over $1200 and all they did was talk to me for ten minutes and squirt some water into my eyes. They will bill you for everything possible including taking a pic with their free Ipad for $75. If you… want to pay the highest prices for their three expensive offices and get substandard care this is the place!

My husband has had a rough couple of years in dealing with an autoimmune condition affecting his eyes. As a result he has undergone several invasive orbital surgeries to relieve pressure and discomfort. Dr. Zaldivar has been there since day one, and has yet to be wrong about a single thing involving my husband’s initial diagnosis and all subsequent treatment, surgeries, and care. Since autoimmune conditions and disease are so varied and symptoms can be so individual, we had a lengthy process involving MANY specialists just to arrive at the correct autoimmune diagnosis which Dr. Zaldivar had suggested from the very beginning. We feel strongly after much experience with him that Dr. Zaldivar’s expertise in this area and immense talent as a surgeon saved my husbands eyes. We could not be more grateful, and cannot recommend him enough. He has a naturally kind bedside manner, yet an honest and direct style of communicating that we found so refreshing during what was a very frustrating time.… Throughout the duration of my husband’s care we came to wholeheartedly trust Dr. Zaldivar’s opinion and plan for treatment beyond any other. Additionally, his entire staff is fantastic— always friendly communication, kindness, and attention to detail; an amazing support team to this excellent practice. I am so thankful to have been referred to Dr. Zaldivar. He is a Rock Star! Diagnosed with (TED) Thyroid Eye Disease, I faced problems with double vision, blurred vision, and bulging eyes. After many consultations, Dr. Zaldivar recently performed Orbital Decompression Surgery. The surgery was a Success! With recovery, I am experiencing amazing results. Dr. Zaldivar, his entire surgical team and office staff have been very kind, professional, and compassionate. I am grateful. Thank you.

Dr. Zaldivar is great, I would recommend him to anyone having an eyelid issue, but I had a real problem with the girl scheduling my mother's surgery. After a couple of calls to the office to clarify some questions she had a very condescending/rude attitude w me and especially with my mother. She might understand the procedures, but unfortunately both myself and my 80+ year old mother did not. She became extremely short with her replies to what I guess she considered a few to many questions. If she does not want to take the time to discuss surgical scheduling questions, she should have passed us on to someone that cared. I thought she just did not like my mother or I, but when sitting in the waiting room she had the same condescending tone in her voice to another patient that she was speaking to on the phone.
