I was fortunate to have Dr. Herbert as a Surgeon for two different non related operations. I suffered 24 hour pain from three prior operations by other surgeons and if not for Dr. Herbert cleaning up from the prior operation; today I would not be pain free. My second operation performed by Dr. Herbert was a hip replacement, I am two weeks out from the operation and pain free. His exceptional skill in orthopedics is coupled with kindness and genuine caring. I thank God for placing him in my life, for now I have a pain free life! Thank you Dr. Herbert for being dedicated to your calling and because of you I have a new outlook on life. I thank God for you everyday! Sincerely, Rebecca Wilson

My hip surgery was successful without complications. I was concerned that being nearly 70 years old, Dr. Herbert might not be up with the latest technology. Also, frankly, I was concerned because of the sometimes questionable reputation of the VA hospital system. However, I found that with my new hip came no restrictions such as crossing my legs due to an updated procedure. My recovery, though painful, was quick and complete. Yes, like most surgeons, he devotes more energy to surgical procedures than bedside manner.

Dr. Herbert performed rotator cuff surgery on me almost two years ago. My shoulder is 10 times worse post-surgery than it ever was prior to surgery and I am a younger person. Dr. Herbert has never had a follow up with me outside of his P.A. so he really is clueless as to how his "work" turns out. Run far away from this guy, get real insurance, and go somewhere besides the VA.
