Dr. Reza Govashiri, MD

Doctor Govashiri has been my doctor for a few years now. I’m happy with the care I’ve received from him. He is very experienced, thorough and cares a lot. I would recommend him if you’re in his area.

He ia very knowledgeable

I have never been spoken to in such a condescending and rude manner by a doctor in my life. He diagnosed me with illnesses that I do not have, and when asked how he came to that conclusion, he brushed me off. He is rude, impatient, and lacks compassion. The front office does an adequate job, but this man is horrible. Do not waste your time with him. I tried to just see him for referrals, but he is beyond rude. I do not trust him with my health.

Do not see Dr. Govashiri, he does not care about his patients at all. My mother was seeing him and had a suspicious spot on her lower leg that he ignored every-time my mom showed it to him. He would say it's nothing. I had her switch to my doctor and the nothing as it turns out is a LARGE basil cell cancer that now needs to be cut out and will not be easy, because Dr. Govashiri ignored it for a year! He has never referred her to a cardiologist knowing her history of heart surgery several years ago. This is another issue that has also gone unchecked. It sucks getting old, but what really sucks is a Dr. that could care less and make you feel like your just paranoid.

My previous Physician of 20 years past away, so my HMO insurance gave me a few names in my area that I could switch over as my new provider. I chose this Dr, because he was located close to my home and work. I had been on thyroid medication for years and I needed my prescription refilled so I had to make an appointment to see him. The moment I walked into the office , I got an immediate negative feeling by the staff. I sat and waited and observed how the front desk treated a few of the elderly patients. They came across rude and and short. It wasn’t any better when I had to interact with her. When it was my turn to see the Dr, I was appalled at his demeanor. I had never experienced a Dr, who I felt was condescending , cold, and looked down at me. I left and shrugged it off , hoping he and his staff were just having a bad day. The Dr, said I needed to have a series of blood work done since I was a new patient and referred me to Quest to have blood drawn. I was told by his staff in… order to get my results that I needed to come in, as well as having to download a app called “follow my health”. I told Fari the mgr that I don’t want my info on an app and she said that is the only way I will get results. The Dr, said my cholesterol was very high. He made no recommendations, nor advise any medications. The visit was methodical , cold and just no bed side manners. I left there frustrated and determined to find another Dr, fast forward to this year, I suffered a stroke (at a young age) I was recently laid off and no insurance. I was in the hospital for 2 days. The attending physician said he called my Dr to let him know I was here. ( he was still my Dr on record) the neurologist said my stroke was from high blood pressure and high cholesterol. They put me on Lipitor, to reduce my high cholesterol as well as 3 other medications. . I contacted my pharmacy to have these meds refilled and she said the Dr, denied my refill. I called the office and spoke to the offfice mgr who has always been rude to me. I explained the situation that I had a stroke last month and Dr was notified and that I needed a refill. She said that I needed to come in. I said , I do not have insurance right now. And can I have a refil for at least another month. She said no, I said what am I supposed to do? She said go to the hospital. I said why would I go to the hospital to have these medications refilled? I just got a 34k bill for my hospital stay. She said you need to come in. I said I can’t afford it right now , I lost my job and have no insurance. She said I don’t know what to tell you. I said will the Dr see me with no insurance? She said I don’t know. I said what would it cost? She said $180. I told her I can’t afford that this month since I am not working. And that I need these pills to prevent another stroke. I also asked why the Dr didn’t contact me after my release with the final blood results. I raised my voice because I was so frustrated with how they are with every encounter I’ve had with them . She had no compassion, empathy, nor offered to speak with the Dr. I have 3 pills left and then I don’t know what I will do. The bottom line is the entire staff including the Dr are just callous,. I wonder if he would of put me on Lipitor when he got the results last year and blood pressure if would of had this stroke. I will never step foot in his office again

I neither like or dislike him. I find him a bit impersonal, but I normally just get referrals to specialists.

Dr Govashiri is the worst doctor I have had. He is callous and inconsiderate towards his patients. He did not think it necessary to send me to the specialist even when he could not figure out anything on his own.

Have been seeing this Doctor for 11 years. He was part of the team that saved my life in 2004. After that I have been seeing him pretty regular. If I have a problem that is beyond his expertise, he will research to find me the best he can. This guy is "First Class" He is caring and honest and absolutely tells it like its is. If you like sugar coating, go somewhere else.
