Reza Kafi, MD

I was very disappointed with my experience with Dr. Reza Kafi through DirectDerm. I explained that the oral medication he prescribed once daily was not adequately controlling my rosacea breakouts and that the topical solution he prescribed was drying and irritating my skin and seemed to make the breakouts worse. What concerned me most was that the topical medication he continued prescribing is not specifically indicated for rosacea, while I asked about established treatments that are specifically indicated for inflammatory rosacea and had worked better for me previously. Dr. Kafi told me to continue the same treatment because my skin was “nearly clear” and said the alternatives “may cause more issues,” without addressing my concerns or clearly explaining why those rosacea-specific treatment options were not appropriate for me. My issue was not simply that he disagreed with me. I felt that my treatment history, side effects, ongoing symptoms, and response to previous treatment were… not meaningfully considered. A photograph looking clear on one day did not reflect what I was experiencing over time. Unfortunately, I did not feel listened to.

This physician is top rate. Among the best I have ever experienced. Also, his front office staff is as good as they get.
