Very professional, took extra time to explain my concerns thoroughly and to my satisfaction. Wait times were very long but Dr Koler made it worth the wait.

Dr Koler spent the time with us that my primary would not, very complete and thorough.

I am Dr. Koler's ex wife who has suffered with chronic pain from many orthopedic surgeries including 2 joint replacements. I have learned to manage my chronic pain through meditation and staying away from inflammatory inducing foods like sugar and getting plenty of exercise. Therefore, I do very well in managing my pain without pain meds. To me, it is more mind over matter. I am sorry for those who have chronic pain. It can be a real pain, but, I do agree with my ex husband. Dr. Koler. He should not have to manage anyone's chronic pain in the ER. He is there to help people with life threatening diagnosis in the ER. I feel your physical and emotional pain, but I feel it would be managed better if you see a pain consultant or pain doctor like at the Tennessee Pain Consultants instead of burdening an ER doctor with it. Meloxicam like Dr. Koler prescribed is a very effective anti inflammatory drug that I use. Anyway, when it comes to chronic pain, an ER visit is not the answer.

Dr.Koler was very friendly and thorough with my care. He took the time to explain my diagnosis and care plan. He made me feel like he cared and not just a number.

Dr. Koler was very patient and compassionate in caring for our mother. He spent extra time with us in order to make sure we understood her diagnosis and what her treatment plan was. He was very personable and spoke in terms that were easy to understand. Highest recommendations.

I saw Dr. koler , or rather should i say,that I never saw him,the last visit to the er! I was kept waiting for well over two and a half hours.I had been to this same er on two prior ocasions,for the same complaint; phantom limb pains,stemming from an amputation in Viet-nam,from a gunshot wound.I have had these pains for over 45 years,off and on. They are chronic,but have flare ups,that can be unbearable.I went to the er thinking they will treat me the same as the last two times,which,were to give me something that worked for the pains,and release me.This time,for some rason,they chose not to.Dr. Koler sent word to me,that he doesn`t treat "chronic pain"! again,this was treated twice before,with good results,and it was their idea.Dr. Koler kept me waiting for over two hours,when the er was EMPTY! Then,to add insult to injury,he sends word to me,that he will not treat me.I have never felt so disrespected,and hurt by this man.Cl;early,he is someone with an axe to grind ,for disabled… Viet-nam vets.I was only there to receive the same treatment I had been given on two prior visits.Nothing more,nothing less! I was sent away,in worse pain than I was when I got there.I feel I was largey discriminated against,and patronized by his large charge nurse.I have never felt so demeaned and humiliated in all my life,since being disabled.He is a man without compassion,and the only way to get his attention,is thru the legal system. At least they will treat a disabled vet ,fairly.Dr. Ric, your list of complaints will grow.

I had to wait 2 hours. Dr. Koler seemed distant and not interested in my case. I had hurt my back unloading from my move. He made a mention that hurt me, that I only wanted pain meds, but that is not true. I was hoping that that to ease my pain, he could write me for meloxicam, which I had taken in the past to ease my pain. He then was friendly when I said this to him, as I did not want pain meds. If he treats everyone who comes in with pain the way he treated me at first, then everyone is going to endure his wrath before he knows how they will respond. Thank you, Liz
