More about Dr. Richard G Ancheta

I was born in New Jersey and moved around often because my father was in the Navy. We ended up settling in California, and I completed my medical training in Los Angeles and my residency and fellowship in San Diego before relocating to Seattle. I recently married my high school sweetheart, and we have two dogs. I became a physician because I always wanted to make a difference, and medicine provides a unique opportunity to combine my interests in biology and physiology with my desire to develop long-term relationships with people. Prior to working here, I was chief fellow in the graduate medical program at Scripps Green Hospital, where I received an Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award and the Nell and Tom Waltz Award for Leadership. I decided to work at Kaiser Permanente because I was impressed by the organization_s quality and efficiency and its focus on patient-centered care.
