Dr. Richard Brian Robbins, MD

This was our first OB appointment since my wife became pregnant. We told the office we preferred a woman doctor, but they pressured us to see Robbins, saying we were already behind schedule at 8 weeks, and assured us that Robbins was great, and we could see a woman for the 2nd appointment. Throughout the 20 minute appointment, he made it clear that he would rather listen to his own voice tell personal and irrelevant stories than learn about his patients. He didn't answer questions, nor did he ask us anything or write anything down. But worst of all, he told a personal story during the performance of a pap smear, putting instruments inside my wife repeatedly with no warning while she was clearly tense and in pain, and then came back to put his fingers inside her with no explanation. I was stunned and horrified at his behavior. We will not be revisiting Roswell OBGYN specifically because we will take no chances at being treated by Richard Robbins ever again. Warn your friends.

I went to Dr. Robbins through high school, undergrad, and briefly after grad school. The last couple annual visits I went to he made extremely unnecessary remarks about my sex life. It felt as if he was guilting me for having pre martial sex to the point the nurses facial expression showed disgust/frustration. An OBGYN doctor is to make sure you are healthy, not make you feel guilty for your choices. He also made a snide remark about my nipple piercings saying “I would never let my daughter get those”. 1) It’s not your body, keep your opinion to yourself. 2) Your daughter’s not going to tell you! I should have switched the first time he made me feel uncomfortable. Let’s just say I’m extremely happy with my new younger female doctor who has way more social awareness.

He is kind, extremely knowledgeable and great surgeon. The office is a well oiled machine. Everything is prompt, no sitting around for unreasonable amounts of time.

I was a patient for years and years. My child was delivered by him. He has changed in his attitude towards his patients. I left him and Roswell Ob-gyn practice after feeling embarrassed and humiliated by a doctor that I had trusted. Being laughed at in an exam room while you cry is about as insensitive as it can get. No woman deserves that kind of disrespect. Arrogance and rudeness have not served this once caring professional well. I left and so did a woman I had recommended to him. She also had a similar circumstance. There are caring doctors out there.... Dr. Robbins no longer falls into that category.

I thought I would try a practice closer to home for my second pregnancy. Unfortunately, my second pregnancy was a missed miscarriage which was uncovered at a 9 week ultrasound. The ultrasound technician was lovely and cried with us in surprise of it all. We were transferred to Dr Robbins as my midwife was not available. Dr. Robbins may be accomplished professionally but he Seriosuly lacks sensitivity and bedside manner. He used our case as a teachable moment for his physician in training. He gave us two options - to wait it out or have a D&c. He even said often times the woman gets blamed while talking to his student - couldn't that wait til you're done with counseling us? It was painful enough to learn what we did that day let alone hearing that. I went back to my old practice - and had the best experience possible given circumstances. My old OB gave me pills to encrouage the miscarriage that seem to have worked - an option that was never discussed at roswell obgyn. I will… not return to this practice. this experience happened to teach me to trust my instincts.

Fantastic doctor

I have been a patient of Roswell OBGYN for over 12 years. I have delivered 3 children with this practice. Dr Robbins is by far my most favorite Doctor. He is patient, understanding, confident, kind, knowledgeable, and caring. I truly believe he takes the time to get to know his patients, and has a very individual approach to patient care. Dr Robbins has gone out of his way to provide a level of medical care that far exceeds the standard. I appreciate all the help, support and attention he has given me.

Dr. Robbins is great to work with! He takes time to listen and discuss.

Seeing the OBGYN is not the most pleasant thing to do but Dr. Robbins makes it palatable. He has an wonderful bedside manner and is extremely professional.

Have been seeing Dr Robbins for over twenty-five years.
