I keep reading all of these negative reviews. It's either a groupon problem, someone's inability to show up on time or some nasty woman at the front. To start, if you're going to prepay for cosmetic enhancements before even meeting with the Doctor, make sure there's some type of return or dissatisfaction policy before paying. I can't believe people are that stupid. Second, when you call to schedule your initial appointment they emphasize more than once how you must be on time and cash or check are the only forms of payment. I was running 5 mins late due to traffic, I called ahead and was told it will be ok, never some $100 noshow fee. I'm a fairly new patient I started seeing Dr. Bonder in the summer, the woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and mentioned she was new. So my guess, he got rid of the that mean receptionist. Dr. Bonder is practical and to the point. He's clearly experienced and unless you come with questions he won't know what you're thinking. So ask. I went in with cystic acne problems and he was able to clear it up completely within 4 months. He's respectful and old fashioned, I've never had a bad experience. As far as his office being a "scam" that's just ridiculous. It's a business, of course he wants you to come back for checkups, but it's up to you, the consumer, whether you want to reschedule or not. Basically, be on time, make sure you have enough cash to cover your copay, and come with questions.
I work in the hospital as an RN and did not do my due diligence to research dermatologist prior to my visit as I wanted to be seen as soon as possible. Scheduling for first time visit was available within a week. This should have been the first red flag as he's not busy for a reason. During my visit, I was the only one in the waiting room and was seen within 5 minutes even though I was 30 minutes early. The receptionist aren't the friendliest or helpful. They seemed to have an attitude about having to help patients and were doing me a favor by being there. Dr. Bonner came into the room within a minute of me going into the patient room. Thought this was the fastest and most efficient doctor's office ever. He was there maybe 5 minutes and stopped me in the middle of my explanation of my symptoms as if he didn't need to hear it. He did a scrapping, wrote a prescription and didn't feel the need to explain anything unless I asked. I was told to come back in three weeks for my results. I was told I wouldn't be able to get the result unless I came back to see him. Maybe he wants to evaluate the progress of my condition but paying another copay to get my result seems unnecessary and excessive. I would not recommend going to see him unless it was really urgent and there were no other options. Even then, I'd have a hard time recommending him as you won't have answers until subsequent visits.
