Double Knee Replacement

Dr. Gray replaced both of my knees 7 weeks ago. He did a great job allowing me to begin my rehabilitation within a week of surgery. I was able to stand the day of surgery without pain and walked within 24 hours. He and his staff answered my questions and did an excellent job preparing me for this surgery during the joint class and being available by phone. You have to work hard during rehabilitation to make progress after Dr. Gray does his surgical work. I am back at work full time, driving and exercising. I was back at work and driving within about 3 weeks post surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Gray, because surgery is important and so is your willingness to work hard at rehabilitation.

A New Lease On Life

Four years ago, a horse fell on me, fracturing and dislocating my right hip. After several months of recent and unsuccessful treatment and no surgeons available at my primary health insurer/clinic, I located and contacted Puget Sound Orthopedics and Dr. Gray. It was determined that surgery was my only option as I was in great pain and becoming debilitated from progressive arthritis in the hip joint. Dr. Gray and his team were able to see me right away and had availability for surgery very quickly. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the hip replacement surgery would be a 4 hour outpatient procedure! My primary physicians not only could not offer the surgery at all-it would have meant a hospital stay if they had done it! I opted to have Dr. Gray do the surgery as I trusted his judgement(he has 30+ years of experience with this procedure) and I felt comfortable with him. Dr. Gray is personable, professional and very capable! The staff at the clinic is always friendly and professional as well. Once the surgery was completed, I had IMMEDIATE relief from the pain and discomfort that had been plaguing me for months. My recovery has been easier than I thought and I feel like I have gotten my life back. I am about to return to my physically demanding job, I have returned to riding my horse and am able to do all of my farm chores with relative ease. I cannot recommend Dr. Gray and his Swift Path joint surgery procedure enough!

Five Stars

I suffered for years with hip pain, but had such a fear of surgery, I put it off. I finally went in to see Dr. Gray for the second time and realized it was time to do something about it. With Dr. Gray's help and his wonderful staff, they calmed my fears and I am now 6 weeks into recovery. I'm doing great. During my last visit with Dr. Gray, he let me know he's there for me. Those words mean a lot to a patient. He truly cares.

Amazing "Hip" Surgeon

I have had left hip pain for many years. I can't remember the last 6-8 years of my life living without pain. I was an athlete in my high school days and enjoy being active as I have been working to lose weight. In 2015, I began the process of trying to fix my right foot where the bone was growing out of my foot due to osteoarthritis after 3 foot surgeries where the left hip just kept getting more and more aggravated due to wearing boot casts and being on a scooter the surgeon said "you have to get your left hip fixed to help your right foot heal". Not being a Dr I thought that he was crazy and maybe I should get my right knee fixed. Luckily I had Dr. Gray who had performed surgeries on me previously who knew better. After several months of severe hip pain and several ER trips to only tell me what I knew already was your bone on bone hip needs to be replaced. It took 7 months and pre-surgery PT before the insurance company would approve, but finally, the insurance company agreed. Don't give up if you are having to jump through hoops. My pain level on a scale of 1 (none) - 10 (intense) was a 14 on a daily basis for over 6+ years. People never really understood how that was possible and how I kept going. I am young (52) and a teacher and I just had to keep going there was no quitting or feeling sorry for myself. I had surgery and was off of the pain meds and walker within 5 days. I then used the cane to help me walk and get stronger using Tylenol for any pain for about 4 weeks. As I write this today I am no longer taking Tylenol on a daily basis and I am pain-free. I sometimes have a little bit of soreness pain, but it is not really painful. My hip pain was basically gone on day one after surgery. It crazy to tell you how amazing I feel. If you are considering hip surgery I would 100% recommend having Dr. Gray perform your surgery. I am very happy with the results.
