DR. RICHARD SLATER TREATED MY ACUTE PANCREATITIS AND SAVED MY LIFE!!! His Absolute Concern and Attention he gave me, back in the late 1980's, is Highly Notable: "I remember... Retreating in massive, unrelenting pain; from sitting lethargic and bent over, in the waiting room half full of patients; to slivering down and passing out from exhaustion onto the carpet, in front of everyone! I recall hearing a waiting patient exclaim to my wife, (who had brought me) something like, "I couldn't ignore what I was seeing, and I told the Nurse; 'There's a man laying on the floor in the waiting room!' He needs help before me." Dr. Slater quickly arrived, ordered a wheelchair from a nurse and they propped me up into it. As he began he thoughtfully said, "Wrap a blanket around him". He moved me with great purpose and resolve through a snow storm, towards the Emergency Room Entrance doors of Hartford, Hospital. The wheelchair splitting the deepening freezing slush which tried to slow or overturn… us, without success. Making it through the ER ADMITTANCE doors, Dr. Slater announced he was admitting me and he claimed a STAT CONDITION, sidestepping normal protocol procedures. Thank you DR. RICHARD SLATER, for all you have done and much more during all the follow ups and investigating and treatments. I'll never forget the call you made to me, asking me, 6 months after prescribing me, (the only thing you could think of to try next), a telling me "I think we found a way to beat your Pancreatitis. Now go out to dinner this weekend, have a glass of wine or a beer and... TEST IT!!! I was amazed at those words, but deeply afraid and concerned. So my Wife and I went out the following night, tested, waited, and days later, reported back. SUCCESS, THANK GOD! Dr. Richard Slater, I want you to know how grateful I really am, even if I didn't express it well enough for what you've done for me, and others that you've helped for so long. Thank You! This guy needs to retire. He and his receptionist are most likely outside smoking, great way to promote good health while keeping you waiting inside their worn out strip mall location. They don’t honor appointments, are not confidential with your information as they will openly discuss patients issues within earshot of others in waiting room. Good luck, your better off anywhere else if you value privacy, competence and good health.

Find another doctor

dr slater knows nothing about achalasia. instead of referring me to another doctor he jerked me around for almost a year. find another doctor rather than waste time with this jerk.

I've been seeing Dr. Slater for at least 25yrs and would never think of changing Drs. Very good bedside manner also.
