Dr. Richard Eric Gould, MD

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at a Dr office. I feel bad because Dr Gould himself is nice but his office staff is HORRIBLE. His assistant Isabel is the most childish, catty person I’ve ever dealt with in a professional setting. Aside from that, Dr Gould told me a week before Christmas that I potentially have cancer and would need a biopsy that his office would schedule. Because of covid and the holidays, I knew it would take a minute to schedule. After 6 weeks, Isabel called me looking for money, which I had already paid and was another issue. I asked her about the biopsy and found out that Dr Gould had never even ordered it. How do you tell a patient they have cancer a week before Christmas and never schedule a follow up? Due to this neglect and the horrible attitude from Isabel, I will never step foot in this office again. I’ve asked 3x for a phone call from Dr Gould explaining what happened and was told that’s not possible.

DR. GOULD IS THE BEST HEMATOLOGIST I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I recently had to move away from Los Angeles, which meant I had to leave my favorite doctor of all time - Dr. Gould. I have a history of multiple PEs combined with some other reproductive medical issues that historically has made it very difficult to get all of my doctors on the same page and talking. Dr. Gould was so wonderful because he quickly got in contact with my other doctors and regularly spoke with them about my care - even when I was suffering from an emergency situation! He was on the phone with my doctors making sure I was getting the care I needed in the ER! A few things I can't stand about other doctors that Dr. Gould completely does the opposite of are: 1) You know when you can tell that a doctor just looked at your chart 2 seconds before walking into the room and took zero time to look at your history or review whatever you discussed during your last appointment? That's not Dr. Gould. He never walked in… fumbling with my chart, he always knew exactly what we were talking about last time we met, he always asked me specific questions that were built on the comments from our last appointment, and he never once made me feel like he was just running from another appointment to get to mine and didn't have time to look into my personal medical situation. For someone who has to see a lot of doctors, this is such a huge plus. 2) Have you ever sat with a doctor and thought, I just don't think this person is treating me like I matter? That's not Dr. Gould. He has the most wonderful bedside manner and is so genuine in how he speaks to you. I had 100% faith and trust in Dr. Gould because he treated me like I was his daughter and not some random number in a line of patients. 3) Have you ever had to talk to 48 medical admin people each time you wanted to do something simple like get an appointment, ask a question, follow up on something from your doctor? I have, but not with Dr. Gould. I always spoke to the SAME two nurse coordinator people (apologies if that isn't their actual title!) any time I needed something from Dr. Gould. Those two women were also incredibly kind and knew who I was and what my situation was so they constantly went beyond the basics of asking how I'm doing and instead, truly asked about my status, checked on me, and provided me information that made me feel like they were a direct extension of Dr. Gould.  Bottom line is, I would recommend Dr. Gould to ANYONE - my mom, my kids, my grandma, my neighbor. He is an incredible doctor who will take care of you, remember your name, and make you feel like you're safe and sound. Thank you, Dr. Gould!

I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Gould as my doctor. In all areas I rate him and his staff as excellent. His nurses - Diane and Vivian - are the best, most caring and professional nurses I have encountered. I have complete confidence working with all of them.
