Dr. Richard Bruce Guttler, MD

The only positive of my experience was he did ablate my cyst. The experience dealing with him was horrific!! Required upfront payment and then when I attempted to leave and ask for a refund (because he was rude and upset that I was asking him questions) he pushed me!!!! I walk into his office and HE is not wearing a mask then, he had issues with the paper mask I was wearing and placed his dirty hands on my face and pressed it against my face, after I told him to stop! He made me take a covid home test and then didn't believe the negative results made me sign a paper saying I took the test. Called me a liar! To top it all off, when the procedure was over, he ran out of the office and refused to speak to me or follow up with the diagnosis/labwork/biopsy results. He thinks I'm the crazy one! - Unbelievable. Should not be practicing any medicine. Time to retire!!!!

After he was no longer my doctor (formally and in legal writing), he used my personal information to steal my cancer surgery pathology slides which I needed to continue my treatment from the UCLA pathology department. He used the slides for his own personal benefit. He and Marilyn refused to return them even after they were caught. My treatment was delayed because of his actions. My cancer is now considered incurable.

The majority of the doctors only work with empty and muddled words, (showing THEIR confusion) from behind a computer, and mainly with ZERO human sensibility. Dr. G. was the opposite of this. Dr. Guttler has been my thyroid doctor for years, and has been a terrific find for me. He is lightyears ahead of other thyroid specialists I have tried, including some UCLA's thyroid research specialists who were less than satisfactory. Dr. Guttler has a refreshingly direct approach, yet listens to what I have to say as a patient. He offers the latest solutions, medications and is on the cutting edge of working/designing new tools to come up with solutions for his patients. He is genuinely curious, concerned and kind. I definitely recommend him to my friends and colleagues.

After reading some of the negative reviews I find it difficult to believe that these critics visited the same caring, compassionate and intelligent physician who has been tending to me all these years. Dr. Richard Guttler is nothing less than exceptional. It was a misdiagnosis in Scottsdale, Arizona that lead me to drive 8 hours to be seen by someone who is passionate about what they do. It was refreshing to find an endocrinologist that is dedicated to excellence

I came to Dr Gutler because of a lump in my neck. He drained the lump, did bloodworm and biopsy and put me on synthroid. I did not gain weight---actually I went on a diet and lost weight and felt very healthy. I have been treated by Dr. Gutler for years now---my dosage of Synthroid has diminished and I am healthy. He has proven to be a caring and quality doctor---and believe me I know the difference. When I was going to get married and needed a blood test at the time I went to my future mother-in-laws doctor who noticed the lump in my neck---and proceeded to give me thyroid medicine (no blood test, no kind of biopsy or anything--that doctor just picked a dosage of medicine ) and I knew what he did was bad mediicine so I searched and found Dr. Guttler who practices GOOD MEDICINE----and listens to what you say and really checks it out medically properly. I feel blessed to have found him.

My father was successfully treated for thyroid cancer by Dr. Guttler. And so, decades later, I am examined twice a year because of my increased risk factor. Dr. Guttler and his staff could not be more professional as well as compassionate. The appointments are always on time and everything runs smoothly. I recommend him highly. He's the best!

Dr. Guttler correctly diagnosed my thyroid condition after it had been overlooked by other physicians. I get regular check-ups to regulate medication and I've been symptom free for years. I have referred family and friends because I trust him.

Ok, so yes the office isn't glamorous. He is older and so is his office manager, but along with this is the old style of actually caring and practicing medicine! He spent almost two hours in a consultation. I had been seeing another endo for 4 years, large goiter two biopsies and no treatment. He spent about 40 minutes on the ultrasound alone, explained to me that they should have biopsied the other side as well due to a very large nodule. He went over the ultrasounds in great detail, showed drawings, pictures of what is going on. Drew blood work on a antibdodies and other things that the other Dr. didnt do. There are accusations on the net stating what he believes in, however he was telling me the opposite of what the accusations are. I wish I would have seen him years ago! I would have felt a lot better sooner!
