Dr. Richard Holland Wagner, MD

I saw Dr. Wagner during my outpatient treatment for depression and anxiety. Once I completed treatment, I saw my GP for a follow up as advised by the staff. I told my GP I was a smoker and wanted to quit and questioned him about going on Chantix. My GP was very hesitant and said he wanted to check with my psychiatrist as I do suffer with depression. Dr. Wagner gave the ok and I started taking the meds. Within a matter a 4 days, the suicidal thoughts, depression, anger and so many other negative behaviors came out in a rage. It cost me my job and almost my life. I knew there were side effects, so I will take some responsibly but Dr. Wagner as the the professional should have NEVER said ok to this drug for a patient just released from treatment that has side effects I was battling with for years. I had to return to treatment and I found it amusing that he was no longer on staff for that facility.

I would like to continue seeing this doctor after my hospital visit, I currently have no more medication and I feel like I still need it. would like to know what he thinks.

This Dr. is nothing but a prescription mill for addicts. Needs to be reported for insurance fraud.

I lost my insurance when I lost my job. Dr. Wagner contiues to see me as his patient at a reduced rate and has helped me get several medications through assistance plans at no charge. Who cares what his office looks like! Jan is the most personable secretary I have ever met. Yes, sometimes he is late. I have only ever had 1 appointment cancelled by him because of an emergency at Good Shephard Hospital. Don't forget, this Dr. is on call 24/7, almost 365 days a year! I have been a patient of his for over 10 years, your not going to find a more caring, honest Psychiatrist out there. Yes sometimes I have had to wait for the patient before me to finish and my appointment runs late, most of the time I have no problem seeing him at the designated appointment time. Sometimes he even sees me early.

All other psychiatrists I've seen are right on time (given each patient has 15 minutes). Being CONTINUALLY late and offering no apology is ridiculous. And when the secretary insists on you getting in on a specific day and is not flexible on times, I expect to be seen on time (not 1 hour later). The appearance of the dr's office is awful- disgusting fish tank, old weights, dishelved desk. Does not appear anything is in order. And the fake friendliness of the oblivious secretary is the kicker- she doesn't know anything and is rude to patients. Another person who's miserable with her life and making it known to others (who are there to get help with THEIR life!). PS- a dr should know the procedure codes when he orders tests. It's not possible to verify coverage without this info. Of course this dr and secretary have no idea, and didn't even offer the billing service # who handles this.

He could not have appeared less interested or engaging. I don't like to talk, he did nothing to try to make me comfortable. I guess I was not your optimal patient because I was not forthcoming with any concerns or problems, but he did not make me comfortable enough to do so. At the beginning of our session he apparently had to take medication and washed it down from a full 48 ounce cranberry juice bottle. I wonder if he had a urinary track problem or a crazy problem. Scary, will never return and I am in trouble because I seriously need help and am afraid to seek it after this visit.

The reason why this person is still practicing medicine is because of the lack of good, caring, qualified physicians in the area. I was consulted by this MD out of necessity because of the program I was attending (he was the resident MD overseeing all patients). I was surprised by his lack of professionalism, empathy and insight as a practitioner of psychiatry. He actually 'quit' on my case and told me that I should find someone else to help me. Unreal!

BEWARE THIS YAHOO DOCTOR HAS A VERY NARCISSISTIC PERSONALITY . AND SEEMS TO BE SUFFERING FROM SOME SORT OF A MENTAL ILLNESS . HE DOES NOT TAKE THE PROPER TIME TO MAKE A ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS . STAY AWAY

As a staff nurse on Medical/Surgical and Orthopaedic Units, I met Dr. Wagner on many occasions when we consulted with him for some of our Patients. I remember that I was impressed, each time, with his manner with the staff and patients: he really "looked you in the eye" and seemed to have an awareness that I don't see in a person that often. He seems, to me, to have a gift for knowing a person. I think he must be very smart also.

Unsatisfactory. Made the mistake of paying cash. Repeated requests for a simple bill, showing the diagnosis code for insurance purposes, were simply ignored. Unresponsive and unprofessional.
